Brief summary of my career
1981-1995
Commenced work with Houseman Ltd as part of the Chemical Cleaning Division.
Valuable experience gained in the use of chemicals for different processes, pre-
commission cleaning of new heating and chilled water systems. Boiler descales, all heat
transfer vessels, and all types of chlorinations. During my career with Housemans we
also carried out essential work for the M.O.D. at naval Dockyards, Army bases, and
R.A.F. establishments and HMP services. After gaining the necessary knowledge and
proving myself to the company I was promoted to supervisor and eventually to the role of
Chemical Cleaning Manager in the Midlands. My role included the planning of all works,
pricing and quotations and on the larger contracts on site supervision.
1995-1998
I was approached by Fospur Ltd to take over their Legionella Risk Assessment Manager
vacancy for the Midlands area, and I was offered a superb package deal to carry out this
role, and after having an interview with them I decided to accept the job. I was really
enjoying this new position but unfortunately they were eventually taken over by Ashland
Drew an American company, and it soon became aware that they had bought the
Company for the water treatment side of the business, and therefore there was a lot of
redundancies myself included.
1998-2001
Commenced work with Aquaplus Ltd carrying out a similar role as with Fospur running
their Midlands Division. Eventually the American Holding company decided to make a
drastic cut in their European divisions and I was made redundant.
2001-2003
Commence work with Clearwater Technology based in Bromsgrove as a Legionella Risk
Assessor covering nation wide contracts. The Company did not live up to my
expectations and I tried several times to put my experience in the industry to use to try
and improve their operations. This proved to be a very frustrating time of my career and I
2. finally decided to leave rather than to carry on not being able to use my experience to its
full potential.
2003-2005
Commence work with Dakro Environmental as a Legionella Risk assessor with a
promise of various roles within the company, however I found out after a while that this
was never going to materialise and therefore decided to continue to find the right
employer with a progressive attitude and left their employment
2005- present
I am now employed as a contracts Manager for Sheldon Environmental Services in
Birmingham.
2012 Sheldons have lost a Major contract and it is very likely that there will be
redundancies in the Company, and therefore I am looking for future employment and the
opportunity to pass on my wealth of experience to another employer.
