He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Manitoba in 1983 and is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Martin has worked in urban, rural, and hospital settings as a family physician in Manitoba. In addition to his medical career, he has a Master's in Computer Science and has developed several medical and financial software programs utilizing various programming languages. In his spare time, Martin enjoys astronomy, aviation, and financial trading. His areas of professional interest include computer-aided medical diagnosis, artificial intelligence, digital image processing, and computational finance.
