I am writing to express my interest in the “Engineering position” I recently found on “Source job was located”. I am a
senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Design and Manufacturing Engineering Technology at Morehead State University.
As well as my background in MechanicalEngineering I have also received my Associates of Applied Science in Electronics
Engineering Technologies from Maysville Community and Technical College. With my engineering coursework and hands
on project experience,as well as my strong ability to provide educated problem solving, I believe that I am a strong
candidate for this role.
As an undergraduate,I have balanced a rigorous course load and a number of extracurricular activities such as being a
member of two engineering organizations: SME and ATMAE as well as a member of Theta ChiFraternity, while holding a
part –time job which have allowed me to enhance my skills relevant to this role. Specific to engineering,through my
academic project work I have developed abilities in 3-D design and modeling, an understanding of materialusage, and
have practiced many different manufacturing technologies.For example,in my IET 330: IndustrialDesign course, I as well
as five of my teammates were given the task of redesigning one of the machining labs on campus in order to come up with
a more efficient and safe working environment. With this project we each had to design SolidWorks renderings of two of
the machines located within the laboratory. One of my renderings was of a three axis robotic arm used for drilling and
shaping products which I have provided a photo and document link to within my addition documents. I have also
developed strong interpersonaland communication skills through my officer positions held as a member of ATMAE as
well as the committee head of PublicRelations within my fraternity which I believe will help me succeed as a “Position
and company applying for”. Throughout all of my experiences, I have used my dedication to efficient and creative
problem solving and my ability to prioritize and manage competing demands to positive ends. I am eager to apply my
engineering knowledge and skills at “Company applying for”.
