On May 25th 2010,Game Nation sent a single Press Release to only a handful of media outlets.
This was done to let the gamers know what Game Nation was up to...theWORLD overwhelmingly responded!
This is a snapshot of what happened within those first 24 hours.

THE Evening May of 24th Join Game Nation
On the evening of May 24th 2010, Game Nation went live with their Website,
FaceBook Page and Twitter account. At 9:30 pm they appeared on GameTopia
(a Video Game Podcast Radio Show) and tested the Press Release. It was a place
where they knew they could get feedback directly from the fans. After this test
market, they made some tweaks and adjusted all related touch points.
At 5:00 am - they went to bed. (Below is the official Press Release and Website)

The Much Anticipated Experiential Video Game Theme Park and Resort Has Begun
Game Nation™ is the world’s first Experiential Video Game Theme Park and Resort. Visitors will become players as they
step into a realistic re-creation of a world filled with myths, legends and arenas all crying out for their champion. As you
pass through the gates, you’ll leave behind all worldly stereotypes.You’re now one of millions, all equal, separated only by
your skill, wit, and achievements, which will be proven.Your experience points and score are recognized by the guardians
of this domain. As players walk by, recruits are saluted and veterans are bowed down
to. You are guided to the armory where you must select your weapon. You choose from
majestic relics, whimsical hardware or advanced gear. Here your dreams and fantasies
will come to life in adventures yet to be told.You will become anything you like and live
out the character you create. But this is no game. It’s real! Welcome to Game Nation!
“I remember when I was younger and playing video games, soon after finishing a
game, I would wish that world was real, so I could be part of it.” said Ruke, Creator of
Game Nation. “It’s fantastic, that people will get to realize everything they have seen
in a video game, is coming to life at Game Nation”.
In the next 12 months, Game Nation will be deciding the best location for the
Experiential Theme Park.

THE Morning of the 25th Join Game Nation
At 7:30 am the PR was released to only a handful of media outlets; some obscure
and some major news wires in the video game industry. If you didn’t know, 7:30
is the key time. This insures that you will be at the top of their e-mail inbox. At 9:20
Kotaku (one of the largest Video Game News Sites around!) posted an article about
Game Nation on their front page. Within several hours Kotaku’s story already had
2,433 views and 31 comments - this one being our favorite! (Shown below)
. . . The numbers were doubled by the end of the day.

The Bombardment Join Game Nation
RUKE was awakened by a bombardment of phone calls and e-mail. Some even
traced him down on his cell phone. “Sorry for disturbing you RUKE, but I am
trying to finish my story on Game Nation.” Although not completely awake - he was
happy to oblige. An hour later RUKE’s voice mail on his office line was full. Since it’s
an IP Phone and sits on a server, no one even knew that it was possible. Interview
requests and messages flooded in. They immediately knew that Game Nation is a
hit! By that afternoon Game Nation had 79 fans on FaceBook, 652 visitors to the
website and 40 entries in the data base - people wanting to personally be updated
about Game Nation. Understand, this is the most discerning demographic in the
world. The fact that even one gave their personal information is incredible!

Before the sun set, Game Nation completed 2 interviews and scheduled 8 more. From write-ups to podcasts to
video casts - Game Nation had the media’s attention! The reports were out of control and we were on the
top of the News Wires in 4 countries.

It was just before dawn on May 25th, and the Game Nation official press release was sent out to a handful
of sites. What would follow in the next 24 hours was a whirlwind of excitement and passion, that
surpassed even our own expectations.
After the first 24 hours, Game Nation had:

• 1,527 unique visitors
• 81 sign ups
• 15 write-ups on the top News Wires
• 31 countries and translated into over 3 languages!

By close of the 24th hour, word had spread to Europe. But they would
not stop, visitors from 53 other countries flooded DemandGameNation.
com. What had started as a small announcement became one of the top
stories in the gaming community, and had been translated into Italian,
German, Hungarian, Hindu, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. The Game
Nation war machine could not be stopped. Soon mainstream websites
such as About.com and Current.com were talking about the Nation!
Following the first 24 hours, the hype exploded!
• 406 fans on FaceBook
• 6,040 unique visitors
• 459 sign ups
• 33 write-ups on the top News Wires
• 53+ countries and translated into over 7 languages!

On the 50th hour all the email responses locked up RUKE’s e-mail server!
The many months that followed, Game Nation went silent. With validation
from the Gamer, we went to work bringing the idea to reality.
RUKE did, and still does, interviews on indie podcasts and blogs;
continually catering to the fans, specifically the underground Theme Park
and Video Game communities.
