Global warming, pollution and land degradation should be of a concern to all
of us as we only have one planet to live on.
Mankind has been destroying the Earth to obtain its natural resources for
centuries and now at an ever increasing rate as the worlds population grows.
We have already brought to extinction countless species of animals and
destroyed 90% of the planets natural rain forests.
Over cultivated our valuable farm lands, turning the land barren as salinity
rises, which is then unable to support crop growth or pastures for grazing.
Over fished and polluted our seas and rivers, depleted our fresh water
supplies by global warming and climate change.
Many of our major cities have air that is so full of pollutants it’s hardly fit to
breathe and this pollution is causing dramatic health issues for the population
which in turn increases the strain on our medical services.
One wonders where its all going to end ?
UBS set out on a mission to develop a Construction System that would
reduce the amount of carbon emissions into our atmosphere and decrease the
total amount of raw materials used in construction.

competitive and easy to install by either contracted tradesmen or DIY (do it yourself)

UBS block technology is designed around strength and durability, our
blocks are manufactured on a production line to ensure a machine
finish.
Each block is prepared by a mechanical process to minimize any
chance of the coating material delaminating from the EPS core.
As an extra strengthening measure each block has a fiberglass mesh
applied along with the MgO coating which is designed to prevents
cracking and also adding strength.
A standard wall block is 1meter high x meters long and 186 mm tick
however the dimensions can be altered to suite any building code or
project requirement.
UBS wall block are designed to replace the time consuming and
rigorous task of laying hundreds of bricks / blocks, installing insulation
then rendering a wall, by installing one lightweight block that provides
everything.
Blocks take only minutes to install, completing work that would take a
tradesmen many hours if not days to complete.
Because our blocks are machine finished walls are perfectly true and
depending upon the finish required may only need a quick skim coat
before painting
Block Design Features

Simple Installation
UBS wall block are designed to act as Integrated (in situ) formwork
that remains in place while reinforced steel and concrete is placed
within the blocks core holes to forms the structural skeleton of the
wall.
1) Reducing the need for skilled labor. (simple installation)
2) Blocks are all pre coated to a machine finish.
3) Internal core holes and bond beam reduce the amount of concrete
and reinforcing steel that’s required in a wall by up to 50%.
4)The system can be engineered to withstand earthquake and or
cyclonic regions.
5) Minimal waste (easy site clean)
6) Installed on a strip footing or pile footing.

Standard Block Finishing's
Extreme flexibility of this product allows for almost any
finish to be applied directly to its surface.
The machine finished blocks coated with (MgO) that’s
applied to the UBS wall system is ideal for fixing and
adhering many other materials such as tiles or stone panels
directly to its surface.
Cement textured renders and textured paints can be
applied directly to the walls surface, you can even apply a
light skim coat to the blocks upon completion of installation
to have a perfectly flat painted finish if required.
UBS block can be cut using any standard masonry blade
power tool, services such as lighting or power sockets can
be installed simply by placing conduits or pipes within the
structural core holes prior the poring of concrete.

Other Applications
UBS block system is so versatile, an ideal application
for the product is to use the wall block system to
enclose carports, patios, and verandahs.
It’s a simple procedure to turn any patio or carport
into an enclosed room.
Block can be cut to encase support poles so they
become integrated within the wall and out of sight.
Starter bars can be inserted into the concrete slab
simply by drilling holes where required providing an
anchor point for the wall blocks.
Windows and doors are easy to install within the
UBS wall structure.
If a totally Insulated enclosure is required UBS has
developed specific insulated ceiling panels to
accommodate the project.
Services such as lighting or power sockets can be
installed simply by placing conduits or pipes within
the structural core holes prior the poring of
concrete.

material , so the fence or
wall looks grate from
either side.
 Only painting or your
required finish is then

the home handy person,
this system is simple and
fast to erect for even
people with limited skills.

 A 2 meter blocks weight is
approximately 35 kilos, making the
wall system very easy to handle .
 These blocks are equivalent in area
coverage of approximately 240
standard housing bricks.
 Blocks only take minutes to install.
 No crane's or heavy machinery is
needed for installation.
 Once the blocks are all in place
simply insert the required steel
reinforcement bars within the
core holes.
 Pump concrete into the internal
core holes and bond beams to
form the walls structural skeleton.

Maintenance Issues
Maintenance issues are kept to a minimum due to UBS wall
blocks unique design and manufacturing process.
The systems Lightweight material reduces the dead load weight
on footings and slabs, reducing both the cost of footing required
and the cost of expensive maintenance issues in the future.
The systems specially formulated MgO coating will not support
Algae or Fungi thereby negative mold growths and
decomposition occurs, some mold growths commonly found
growing on conventional cement rendered walls pose significant
health problems.
UBS wall blocks are Insulated and designed in such a way that
the system dose not allow thermal bridging within the wall. A
standard block installed correctly with have a R -Value of 7+as
compared to a standard insulated brick walls R -Value of 2.5

UBS developed its own Magnesium Oxide (MgO) coating
material to finish our products.
This development was due to the environmental and
health issues associated with cement based products,
MgO has the following features:
1) Highly impact resistance 2 – 3 times stronger than
cement based products.
2) Mold resistant – Toxic black mold and other molds will
not grow on its surface.
3) Green – environmentally friendly safe to use and
require less energy to produce than cement.
4) High thermal qualities – provides insulation against the
elements.
5) Creates a barrier that reduces sound transfer.
6) Fire proof.
7) Water resistant.
8) When damaged its easy to repair.
9) Magnesium Oxide is one of the most abundant
materials on the planet.

Post and Rail Fence Panel system
UBS has developed technology to manufacture a Eco friendly
fencing system that provides many benefits over conventional
fencing materials commonly used today.
Materials used within our manufacturing process are designed
to be environmentally friendly, as they are manufactured
primarily from low carbon producing structural coatings and
recyclable materials.
Our fence panels will not rust or deteriorate when exposed to
the elements, they are impervious to insects as they offer no
cellulose food matter.
Panels structural coatings have been specially formulated to be
resistant to molds and funguses which commonly cause
problems in damp areas.
The post and rail fencing system has been designed for quick
and easy installation.
Introduction

Panel Technical Information
Core : EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) a ridged cellular plastic foam material.
Fire : The EPS core is manufactured with a fire retardant material added – its self
extinguishing when the fire source is removed.
R-value thermal resistance : The density of a standard core used within a panel is
19kg giving a R-Value of around 3.5
Moisture : When EPS is saturated with moisture, odors are not emitted and there is
no nutritional value to supportAlgae or Fungi thereby negative mold growths and
decomposition.
Toxicity : CSRIO reports that when EPS is ignited the toxic gases given off is not
grater than associated with burning timber. (H Hofman & H Oettel comparative toxicity
of thermal decomposition products)
Characteristics of EPS : Lightweight, easy to handle, durable, strong & flexible, low
water absorbent, shock absorbent, vibration dampener, high R-value, excellent sound
proofing qualities, low combustibility, no food value for insects or rodents, stable,
recyclable, with no CFC,s or HCFC, generating a low carbon foot print = GREEN
Panel coating MgO : Magnesium oxide coating applied to the EPS core has been
specially designed to make a positive impact on the environment. Its a GREEN
building product that is used as a fireproofing material alternative to gypsum board,
plywood, and a alternative to cement and plaster products. Its waterproof, and highly
impact resistant, Insect, rodent, mold resistant and environmentally friendly.

Panel Design Features
UBS panel technology is designed around strength and durability, our panels are

Panel Strength and Durability
UBS Panels are extremely strong and durable while still remaining relatively
lightweight a standard 1.8 meter high x 1 meter wide and 40mm thick panels
weight is 28 kg.
Strength tests conducted within our factory resulted in a failure only occurring
once a load of 250 kg (5x 50 kg bags) was placed in the center of a suspended panel.
(Photo below shows the test panel supporting 200 kg 4 x 50 kg bags)
Durability of the MgO coating is evident by the many structures built in accent
times such as the GrateWall of China still standing today which used MgO cements
to bind its bricks together, now in modern times MgO was extensively used to
construct engineering marvels such asTaipei 101- until recently the tallest building in
the world, MgO is also resistant to fire and will not act as a conductor of electricity.

Post and Rail Detail
UBS fence panel system has been designed to sit within a simple to
install extruded PV or a rolled color bond metal post and rail
system.
The fence panels are designed to be place into the post and rails
system vertically or horizontally.
Panels can be manufactured in many different configurations to suit
all applications.

UBS standard fence panels :
1) Standard flush panel 40 mm thick x 1.8 meters high x 1 meter wide
2) Standard flush panel with integrated LED lighting 300 mm off ground height to
illuminate foot paths.
3) Standard flush panel with integrated LED lighting 230 mm below fence height to
illuminate fence boundary
4) Standard flush panel with 20 mm x 20 mm steel tube reinforcement.
