This document provides an overview of a pre-ballet dance class for children. The class aims to introduce children to ballet fundamentals in a fun and nurturing environment. Over six weeks, students will learn ballet terminology, work on alignment, flexibility, and discipline. They will also collaborate with the teacher on simple choreography and perform for others. The class schedule includes warm-ups, across the floor exercises, and learning key ballet terms.
1. Dance Discovery is an interactive class where children can discover the joy of movement. I believe a
child’s (and parent’s) first experience with dance should make a positive and lasting impression.
Students have fun in a safe, creative and nurturing environment. Pre-Ballet is a creative movement
class with a ballet emphasis. Classes are designed to encourage students to explore the elements of
dance with a focus towards ballet in a fun and nurturing environment while setting the stage for future
training. I hope to give the youth both Ballet fundamentals, and the ability to know terminology.
