52. Aramco Qualification – Partner
Currently co-developing a high
temperature, chemical-resistant elastomer
with Freudenberg NOK’s (“FNOK”)
industrial seals division, Simrit.
Incorporate modern elastomeric base gums.
Two candidate cure systems have been targeted for
their chemical resistance, heat resistance, and general
working resilience.
Initial test results of the physical properties show that
both candidate compounds are comparable to severe-
service elastomers currently used in high-performance
blowout preventer products today.

Analytical screening to be performed at a third-
party lab, Southwest Research Institute
Temperature and chemical exposure using ASTM samples.
SWI has configured their test fixtures and have completed a H2S and
pressure safety verification of the fixtures.
After modification of the test protocol, up to three simultaneous
immersions may now be performed. The original estimated duration of
immersion testing was five months, it is now two months.
Products will be subjected to physical testing:
High temperature testing to 300oF.
H2S / CO2 / CH4 testing.
