• High earnings seem possible from the very beginning of
  the social media career, this is mostly because a lot of
  professionals have previous work experience of many
  years in another field – as can be seen in subsequent
  slides

• There seem to be a few freak deviances where people
  after many years have a very low pay

• Overall, social media seems to be a fairly lucrative
  career option in India

post grads. It can be accounted by,
  Having more years of work experience
  Asking a higher salary (this can be seen from the
   dips in the comparison chart in the next slide – they
   are less steep for post grads)

We were getting varied views and INR numbers from people in the industry! $$ We thought, why not find out! … Thanks to all the social media folk who took the survey, we now get an idea of the earnings scenario in India!
  • 3. Participation • We collected over 100 entries • The survey was largely passed to social media professionals via direct messages on Linkedin and Twitter hence assuring quality and authenticity

  • 5. • High earnings seem possible from the very beginning of the social media career, this is mostly because a lot of professionals have previous work experience of many years in another field – as can be seen in subsequent slides • There seem to be a few freak deviances where people after many years have a very low pay • Overall, social media seems to be a fairly lucrative career option in India
  • 6. Previous Work Experience • 56% have previously worked in another field • Most are experienced in traditional marketing & sales channels
  • 7. Facts & Stats • 7.6% participants work on a part time basis while the rest are full time • 17 (16%) participants are business owners • 55% of the participants have complimentary skills, 24% are into SEO – Search Engine Optimization

It can be accounted by,  Having more years of work experience  Asking a higher salary (this can be seen from the dips in the comparison chart in the next slide – they are less steep for post grads)
