have contributed and are contributing to great extents for the successful

detailed explanation of the various community level interventions based
on the regional and national mass mobilization strategies. The manual
includes how the activities planned, implemented, track recorded,
reported, what roles expected from different bodies. It also consists of
more than 9 formats for planning, data gathering, reporting, etc at kebele
and wereda level.
 Regional Mass Mobilization Strategic Document – This is a document
about current regional HIV/AIDS strategies which is now adapted at
national level and I was the chairman of the group who developed the
draft document.
 Youth mobilization Manual – This is a supplementary document to the
regional mass mobilization strategic document which explains the need for
attitudinal, systemic and organizational change in order to reduce
vulnerability of the youth and effectively involve the youth in their own
issues. The manual also indicates areas for youth’s involvement and the
roles of other bodies towards empowering/strengthening and encouraging
the youth.

 NGOs/CSOs’ Manual – This manual is similar to the last two manuals but
focuses on the roles of NGOs/CSOs in effective implementation of the
mobilization strategy.
 Draft Manual for Establishing Community based Non-Formal Education
Centers for OVCs – It is an implementation guideline on establishing and
running kebele/local level non-formal education and day care services for

  • 7. 18) Different district and kebele level implementation guides and tools which have contributed and are contributing to great extents for the successful implementation of the HIV/AIDS programmes. Some of these materials developed under my technical leadership and massive professional input are:  Manual for Kebele/village-level HIV/AIDS Activities – This manual is a detailed explanation of the various community level interventions based on the regional and national mass mobilization strategies. The manual includes how the activities planned, implemented, track recorded, reported, what roles expected from different bodies. It also consists of more than 9 formats for planning, data gathering, reporting, etc at kebele and wereda level.  Regional Mass Mobilization Strategic Document – This is a document about current regional HIV/AIDS strategies which is now adapted at national level and I was the chairman of the group who developed the draft document.  Youth mobilization Manual – This is a supplementary document to the regional mass mobilization strategic document which explains the need for attitudinal, systemic and organizational change in order to reduce vulnerability of the youth and effectively involve the youth in their own issues. The manual also indicates areas for youth’s involvement and the roles of other bodies towards empowering/strengthening and encouraging the youth.  Manual for Faith Based Organizations (FBOs) – This is also a document prepared as part of mobilization strategic document which explains the need for attitudinal, systemic and organizational transformation for positive social change against HIV/AIDS and explains areas for involvement of FBOs in fighting against HIV/AIDS. More than 600 leaders trained as TOTs.  NGOs/CSOs’ Manual – This manual is similar to the last two manuals but focuses on the roles of NGOs/CSOs in effective implementation of the mobilization strategy.  Draft Manual for Establishing Community based Non-Formal Education Centers for OVCs – It is an implementation guideline on establishing and running kebele/local level non-formal education and day care services for orphans and vulnerable children. It also explains the roles of different stakeholders. Dr Erssido Lendebo _ CV Page 7 of 8
