I have been working as administrative head of the above centers, looked after all operations
including medical services, involved in policy making and strategy planning.
Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Escort Heart Institute and Fortis Health Care are tertiary care,
NABH & JCI Accredited, corporate hospitals whereas others are Level – 2 Centers.
Krishna Super Specialty Hospital, Kanpur was awarded NABH Accreditation during my tenure
in that Hospital and I played a lead role in the entire process of accreditation.
The bed capacity of these Level – 2 centers has been 100 to 250 beds with multispeciality and
superspecialty services like Gastroenterology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Nephrology,
Cardiology with invasive facilities, Plastic Surgery, Surgical & medical Oncology etc. along with
critical care facilities as ICCU, MICU, SICU, NICU, PICU, PBU, CT Scan, Pathology, Pharmacy,
Ambulance Services, Blood Bank, 24 hours emergency and other support services.
The management of Vivekanand Hospital is also running a Nursing College, a Nursing School, a
Paramedical School, a School for spastic children, 8 satellite centers in the surrounding sub
urban and rural areas and I was assigned the over all management of the hospital as well as all
these institutions and Centers in the capacity of GROUP DIRECTOR.
Brij Healthcare and Research Centre, Mathura was functioning under the operational management
of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi with all SOPs of the later. As I was appointed since
the inception of the hospital, I got an opportunity to be involved in its planning, commissioning,
Staff Planning, their recruitment including Consultants, Instalation of equipments,
Supervision of various Operations and overall administration of the centers.
Escort Heart Centre, Kanpur (U P) & Raipur (Chhattisgarh) were the single specialty Hospitals
dealing with the Non-Invasive and Invasive Cardiology along with Cardio-thoracic Surgery and I
worked as Administrative Head of these Centers.
I joined NTC as Medical Officer in 1980 and promoted as Senior Medical Officer in 1988 and
Chief Medical Officer in 1992. I was over all in-charge of the Medical Department which included 11
mill units and 58 retail outlets of the corporation all over the state of Uttar Pradesh. As technical head
I was the member of various committees concerned with medical services of the corporation and
acted as key person in the formation of medical policies which included reimbursement
schemes, Empanelment of hospitals, diagnostic centers, consultants and welfare activities of
the employees etc. I was also authorized for granting preauthorization approvals and referrals for
IPD patients and recommending cases for advance payments of treatment expenses. I took
voluntary retirement from the services of NTC in November 2004.
