The Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs • Europe does not have enough ICT experts and up to 900,000 jobs could go unfilled in the next years • Grand Coalition officially launched in March 2013 by President Barroso to tackle the "digital skills gap", created awareness and political momentum • So far 42 "pledges" received, i.e. self-commitments by companies, universities, and other stakeholders to tackle mismatch • National Coalitions for Digital Jobs emerging in over 10 countries 14

- The e-CF is a reference framework of 36 ICT competences that can be used and understood by ICT user and supply companies, the public sector, educational and social partners across Europe. The European e-CF is not based on job profiles but rather on competences as this approach is more flexible. Its purpose is to provide general and comprehensive e-Competences that can then be adapted and customised into different ICT business contexts.The 36 competences of the framework are classified according to five main ICT business areas and link directly to the European Qualifications Framework
