Welcome to the Festival!
Big

Online learning is new to many of us ELTs.
Participating in a MOOC is new to most of us.
Participating in an ELT MOOC is new to all of us.
The key to our success:
Working together-Being flexible-Staying connected!

ELT Techniques (ELT-T) is the first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) dedicated
to the development of English language teaching professionals worldwide.
The course runs for four weeks, (November 18-December 13) in WizIQ. Participants can
join at any time. Our theme: Listening and Pronunciation.
ELT-T is overseen by Jason R Levine (Fluency MC) with special contributions from Sylvia
Guinan and Dr. Nellie Deutsch.
ELT-T consists of virtual classes given by 24 presenters, individual and collaborative
work by participants, and discussions around pre-class tasks and post-class tasks.
Participants attend classes live or watch the class recordings.
A team of over 30 facilitators assist in classes and discussions.
ELT-T is designed for anyone teaching children or adults, in large or small groups, and
in public or private schools. It is also appropriate for teachers-in-training.
You do NOT need special knowledge of technology to participate in this course.
To receive a certificate of completion for ELT-T, participants must attend or watch
at least four classes and do the accompanying assignments before December 20,
2013.
As global teachers around the world, we are knitting a new dream together.
The beauty of our presenter/facilitator global collaboration is the respect,
synergy and inspiration that is driving this bold initiative.
One thing I must stress is that we have an entirely new slant. Our MOOC is for
teachers by teachers and we are open about experimenting; we are teachers
trying to make sense of technology for teachers.
- Sylvia Guinan
Teachers need to continue their growth and opportunities
like this; it should be a must for all EFL/ESL teachers.

This is the best online course I have
attended! I can't wait for the next course!

I am totally StickStuckStuck on this MOOC :-)
So many brilliant presenters in one place!
I hope it continues...

Thank you and everyone else
for the most enjoyable working
summer holiday!

Atmosphere is so friendly and I always feel
comfortable here. I met colleagues here from
different parts of the world. It's great to share
our experience with one another.

A wonderful encounter of the teaching
kind, loved it all and looking forward to
the next MOOC.

Thanks for opportunity to have met brilliant Masters
and wonderful peers from all over the world.

It was such an innovative, amazing and
transformational learning/teaching
experience that offered profound
insights and collaborative spirit.

Now I have many interesting ideas to share with my
colleagues and students. This summer's holiday gave
me such inspiration!
You are really teaching and inspiring me to be
more creative, more professional, up-to-date.

This course has been fantastic! I’ve learnt so
many new ways of teaching, but above all the
main idea that I’ll keep in mind when I teach is
to engage students and make them enjoy what
they are learning.
