A computer network connects multiple computers together to share resources and communicate. It allows computers to share files, printers and other hardware. There are two main types - wired and wireless networks - and networks can be local area networks within a building, metropolitan area networks between buildings, or wide area networks spanning broader regions or even globally via the internet using fiber optic technology. Servers and clients connect via network cards and cables or wireless signals to share information and hardware.
