PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
CITY OF CRAWFORDSVILLE CRAWFORDSVILLE, INDIANA
Firefighter / Paramedic July 2008 – June 2015
I serve as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the City of Crawfordsville which averages 3,200 calls for
service annually. Currently, I serve as my shift's primary Engineer and Paramedic at Station #2.
I am involved with the maintenance and implementation of our department's communications
equipment and as well as serving as a member of Indiana Department of Homeland Security
District Response Task Force 4 Incident ManagementTeam. In 2014 I assisted in the creation
and implementing of the City of Crawfordsville’s Fire Merit Commission.
 Responds to rescue and medical aid calls, provides emergency medical care, and
transports patients to the hospital.
 Cleans and inspects equipment, makes minor and major mechanical repairs and
adjustments.
 Operates radio, telephone and computer equipment.
 Maintains knowledge and proficiency related to Crawfordsville Fire Department
Rules and Regulations, fire hazards, firefighting techniques, and related subjects.
 Assists and/or conducts fire prevention inspections, and other related activities
including fire drills and training exercises.
 Serves On-Call 24 hours/day and responds to emergency calls while off-duty.
 Works 24-hour shifts and overtime as required and assigned.
 Works as a Paramedic under strict guidelines set forth by law and local EMS
protocol.
 While working as Paramedic, maintains inventory of medications including
narcotics and other controlled substances.
 Maintains all radio communications equipmentincluding programming, repair,
ordering, general maintenance, etc.

TOWN OF DARLINGTON DARLINGTON, INDIANA
Town Council President January 2012 – June 2015
The primary responsibility of the Town Council President is to act as the Chief Executive and as
the presiding officer of the Darlington Town Council. The Council is the governing body for the
Town of Darlington and is responsible for the setting of policy and providing for the execution
of ordinances, rules and regulations as may be necessary or appropriate to protect health, life or
property, or to promote the comfort, convenience, security, good order, better government,or
the general welfare of the Town of Darlington and its citizens.
 Provide quality programs and municipal services for residents of the
community.
 Hold regularly scheduled public meetings, within the corporate limits of the
Town at a place designated by ordinance, to consider and act upon those specific
items of business that have been appropriately noticed and agendized.
 Attend special meetings and work sessions for in-depth review and discussion of
major projects or policies.
 Debate openly on public batters matters before the Council, hear public
testimony and act in good faith.
 Enact local laws by Ordinance and formulate policies consistent with the intent
of the Municipal Code, General Plan and any other relevant legal requirements.
 Vote and decide issues legally, fairly and without favor.
 Annually establish the compensation of all appointive officers and employees by
resolution or ordinance.
 Adopt the budget for Town operations and capital improvements and set all fees,
fines and penalties.
 Appoint members to advisory boards, commissions and committees and
delegate certain authority to boards, commissions and committees as provided
by Darlington Town Ordinance.
 Determine long range goals and objectives of the Town for community
development.
 Respond to questions from the media and citizens regarding their interpretation
of policy and programs of Town government.
TIPPECANOE COUNTY (SHERIFF'S OFFICE) LAFAYETTE, INDIANA
E-911 Administrator / Communications Coordinator January 2005 - July 2008
In this position, I was responsible for the E-911 system (4 PSAPS - 12 positions) and the
computer aided dispatch (CAD) system for all Tippecanoe County police/fire/EMS agencies as
well as assisting in the maintenance of the county's radio system (VHF/800mhz). Tippecanoe
County’s public safety agencies house some of the busiest public safety agencies in the state of
Indiana. By far, the most rewarding aspect of this position was supervising the day-to-day
operations of the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office's Communications Center and it's staff.
Growing the personnel's skills, abilities, and bringing out their strengths not only helped to

build them personally, it also made for a much better experience for those whom they interact
with in emergency and routine situations.
 Established standard operating procedures, policies and regulations for the
communication center.
 Ensured compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and
regulations.
 Directed, coordinated and monitored the overall activities and personnel of the
Communications Center.,including enforcing policies, procedures and
regulations.
 Evaluated the efficiency and effectiveness of overall operations and equipment.
 Administered personnel policies and made recommendations regarding
personnel actions including but not limited to hiring, disciplinary actions, and
termination of staff.
 Assisted with preparation and administration of communications budget.
 Directed training and development for all Communications Officers within
Tippecanoe County.
 Primary liaison with public safety agencies, media, vendors and the general
public in regards to emergency communication matters.
 Administers the purchase, and maintenance of all departmental equipment.
 Maintained Master Street Addressing Guide for Tippecanoe County's E9-1-1
system.
 Acted as Computer Aided Dispatch administrator for all agencies within
Tippecanoe County.
