WORK EXPERIENCE
Ben Line Agencies Indonesia ( BLAI ) are company who provide all vessel
activity such as arrival, berth, loading unloading, till departure. And i am be part
of operational activity about 9 month as cadet internship program.
BLAI give services to vessel by appoinment letter from owners, and covered all
activity at Batam such as loading, unloading, crew change, bunker, fresh water
supply, docking, repairing, lay up, off shore project, etc.
From there i got many experience as a operational staff, kind of activity as a
operational staff are :
1. Covering vessel's activity from pre-arrival process, must send permit letter to
parties who needed such as port authority, immigration, port health
quaranteen, coast guard navigation, bea cukai, pelindo.
2. Arrival process, do all part activity before vessel berthing such as meeting at
port authority office to determine jetty for vessel berthing, notice to owner,
shipper or consignee, and sucofindo ( third party ).
3. Berthing process, responsibility for safety vessel berthing at jetty, book pilot,
ready at jetty during berthing process and keep contact with pilot to
determine right possition, pump man to determine right hose will be use.
4. Loading/Unloading process, ready 24 hours during activity, placed one staff
onboard during activity, send information to all party about
loading/unloading progress.
5. Departure process, prepare supporting document such as bill of lading, cargo
manifest, mate's receipt, time sheet, arrival report, statement of fact,

3. departure report, prepare sailing permit and all document who needed to
departed from Batam to next port.
Understand and acknowledge of work ship agency, such as:
1. Able to make the draft bill of lading.
2. Able to make the cargo manifest.
3. Able to make a mate's receipt.
