The document summarizes a presentation about a Turkish electric utility company. It discusses the company's profile serving 38 billion kilowatts of consumption to 10 million subscribers. It outlines the company's goals to measure service quality, customer satisfaction, worker performance, and technical losses. It also aims to shift from a subscriber-focused to customer-focused retail model and reduce non-technical losses by monitoring the entire distribution system. The presentation reviews the company's automatic meter reading system involving 60,000 connectable modems, 8 readable meter models, and over 3,000 installed meters. It closes by discussing the company's information systems vision of dynamic management through data and maximum technology use to improve performance.

4. Market Approach
• Distribution
o We want to measure ..
• Quality of our services (SAIDI and SAIFI)
• Our customer satisfaction
• Performance of our workers
• Technical losses
o Technical losses from all layers within distribution systems
o so that we will be the role model for distribution companies around the
globe.
• Retail
o We want to convert ourselves from a subscriber oriented structure to a
customer oriented one.

5. Policy and Priorities of Non-Technical Losses
• Policy
o To monitor the distribution system from it first sources to the farthest end
points, collecting meaningful data from each node of the network.
o Analyzing the combined data warehouse to find root causes for non-
technical losses
• Priorities
o To measure consumption of free consumers via AMR
o it is not feesable to monitor the line for all customers, instead a network
based modelling for residential consumers is required

6. AMR
• Information Systems Infrastructure
o Separated systems established
o 60.000 modem can be connected to the system
o Up to 2.000.000 modems can be managed by the system with parallel
expansion
o 8 different meter make/model can be read
o Telemetry information can be transferred via 2 different modem make/models
• Tests are still in progress on different modem brands
• Field Status
o One of the fastest field installations has been achieved with about 200 modem
installations per week
o More then 3000 modems has already been installed
• Problems encountered
o Communication infrastructure problems (Mobile network coverage problem)
o Integration of data read from the field into the CIS system

7. AMR
• Current Status
o Live data transfer from more than 3000 modems
• Consumption %30
o 9000 modes will be added in 2013
• Consumption %70

8. Information Systems
• Our vision
o A Dynamic management approach based on processes and data
o Maximum use of information systems and technologies to improve
performance and measurability
• Our IS Vision
o continuously communication and interaction
• Software systems
• Automation systems
o Automation systems which will be part of the unified solution
