  PRODUCT AND WHY?
DEFINITION AND EXAMPLES


Magazine Publishing institution are the ones that are behind the magazines, not
the designers but the owners and publishers.
Some examples on institutions are:
• IPC Media – is one of the UK’s leading publisher. Produces over 60 iconic
    media brands. IPC offer something to everyone, but focus on three core
    audience: men (wealth, country, horse, dog and lifestyle), mass marked women
    (Look and TV) and upmarket women (Luxury fashion, lifestyle and home
    interior).
    Music magazines they own are NME, Guitar and Bass.

• Bauer media – Europe’s largest privately owned publishing group. Offer over
    300 magazines in 15 countries, as well as online, TV and radio stations.
    Some music magazines they have published are Mojo, Empire, Kerrang and Q.

WHICH INSTITUTION I CHOOSE –
                            BAUER MEDIA


• I choose Bauer media to be my magazine’s owner and publisher.
• As I have told earlier, does Bauer offer over 300 magazine in 15 countries.
  One example is the magazine FHM (For him magazine).
• Is a multi-platform UK-based media group with many company collected
  around two main divisions – Magazines and Radio. The institution is
  recognised and rewarded as being industry innovators.
• The institution does already own some music magazines that are a bit
  similar to my genre. Examples: Kerrang, Mojo, and Q.
                    Here are 2 magazines Bauser owns, «Empire» and «FHM»:
WHY BAUER MEDIA?


   • I have chosen Bauer media because they own a lot of magazines in all sort
     of types. Another reason, is that they also own some music magazines that
     are quite similar to my magazine. And all of these magazines are very
     famous in UK - so therefore will I feel safe if I choose Bauer.
   • The magazines below are the magazine that Bauer owns. The magazines
     are more rock like, we can see that since they are very red and black. So
     that is also a reason for choosing Bauer as my magazine’s owner. They
     clearly don’t own a real hip hop and R&B magazine. Q are the magazines
     of the magazines below, that are closest to R&B.

OTHER MEDIA AREAS?


• Bauer Media is also working with Radio and TV stations. So it had been
  cool if they could make my magazine to a TV or radio channel.
• In my radio program I would play Hip Hop and R&B tunes. Some tunes
  will be old (because it’s fun to listen to some old songs sometimes), but
  mostly I would play new songs, so that people will be up to date in the
  music world.
• In my TV channel, I would have one host that talks about artists, concerts
  and the news that also stands in my magazine.
• But there are already a lot of hip hop and R&B channels on TV and radio,
  so there isn’t any point of making my magazine in to a channel. One
  reason would be to make a competition between all of the music channels.
  But I would say it’s enough of music channels.

  • 2. WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?
  • 3. DEFINITION AND EXAMPLES Magazine Publishing institution are the ones that are behind the magazines, not the designers but the owners and publishers. Some examples on institutions are: • IPC Media – is one of the UK’s leading publisher. Produces over 60 iconic media brands. IPC offer something to everyone, but focus on three core audience: men (wealth, country, horse, dog and lifestyle), mass marked women (Look and TV) and upmarket women (Luxury fashion, lifestyle and home interior). Offer over 300 magazines in 15 countries, as well as online, TV and radio stations. Some music magazines they have published are Mojo, Empire, Kerrang and Q.   • 4. WHICH INSTITUTION I CHOOSE – BAUER MEDIA • I choose Bauer media to be my magazine’s owner and publisher. • As I have told earlier, does Bauer offer over 300 magazine in 15 countries. One example is the magazine FHM (For him magazine). • Is a multi-platform UK-based media group with many company collected around two main divisions – Magazines and Radio. The institution is recognised and rewarded as being industry innovators. • The institution does already own some music magazines that are a bit similar to my genre. Examples: Kerrang, Mojo, and Q. Here are 2 magazines Bauser owns, «Empire» and «FHM»:
  • 5. WHY BAUER MEDIA? • I have chosen Bauer media because they own a lot of magazines in all sort of types. Another reason, is that they also own some music magazines that are quite similar to my magazine. And all of these magazines are very famous in UK - so therefore will I feel safe if I choose Bauer. • The magazines below are the magazine that Bauer owns. The magazines are more rock like, we can see that since they are very red and black. So that is also a reason for choosing Bauer as my magazine’s owner. They clearly don’t own a real hip hop and R&B magazine. Q are the magazines of the magazines below, that are closest to R&B. We can see that my magazine look more like a hip hop and R&B magazine than thee others..
  • 6. OTHER MEDIA AREAS? • Bauer Media is also working with Radio and TV stations. So it had been cool if they could make my magazine to a TV or radio channel. • In my radio program I would play Hip Hop and R&B tunes. Some tunes will be old (because it’s fun to listen to some old songs sometimes), but mostly I would play new songs, so that people will be up to date in the music world. • In my TV channel, I would have one host that talks about artists, concerts and the news that also stands in my magazine. • But there are already a lot of hip hop and R&B channels on TV and radio, so there isn’t any point of making my magazine in to a channel. One reason would be to make a competition between all of the music channels. But I would say it’s enough of music channels.
