De overheid stimuleert en integreert C2C op diverse manieren in bestaand beleid. In diverse overheidsdocumenten komt Cradle to Cradle terug als een inspirerend concept. In landelijk afvalbebeheerplan (LAP2) staat dat het C2C-concept nauw aansluit bij het werk dat binnen het milieubeleid in de afgelopen 15 jaar is verricht in het kader van integraal ketenbeheer, ecodesign en eco-efficiency. De C2C-aanpak leidt tot verbreding en verdieping van dit eerdere werk. Het ministerie van VROM stimuleert en integreert C2C op diverse manieren. Het programma “Ketengericht afvalbeleid” is er daar één van. Ook in het kader van het Kabinetsbeleid Duurzame Ontwikkeling en in de Industriebrief 2008 wordt over Cradle to Cradle gesproken.
