child of eight, and the
eldest surviving son. There
are no proof or records, but
William was probably a
student to the King’s New
School in Stratford.
3. Did You Know?
That at 18, William married 26 year old Anne
Hathaway? And six months after their
marriage, on May 26 1583, Anne gave birth to
their daughter Susanna? Next for his kin came
his twins Hamnet and Judith. Also another not
well known fact about William is that aside
from writing plays and sonnets, William was
also an actor and appeared in his as well as
others plays. William Shakespeare is also the
second most quoted writer in the English
language.

William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare died on
April 23 1616. In his will he left his
eldest daughter, Susanna, the
bulk of his large estate. With
terms instructing it to be past
down intact to “the first son of
her body”. William was buried in
the chancel of the Holy Trinity
Church two days after his death.
Carved into his grave were these
words, “Good frend for Iesvs
sake forbeare, To digg the dvst
encloased heare. Bleste be ye
man yt spares thes stones, And
cvrst be he yt moves my bones.”
Which is a curse, warning to not
move his bones. Though William

remains.
