Lucero, Carlos Vives and more are set
to perform on the April 25 broadcast.
Some of the biggest names in Latin music including Don Omar,
Gerardo Ortiz, Michel Telo, Lucero and Carlos Vives are
scheduled to perform at the 2013 Billboard Latin Music Awards
during an April 25 broadcast on Telemundo.
Presented by State Farm, the awards show will telecast live from
BankUnited Center at the University of Miami in Florida at 7
p.m./6c. The event will be seen nationally on television and can
also be accessed through social media platforms through
Billboard and Telemundo.
Leading finalist Lucero, also known as "Mexico's Sweetheart,"
has been in the business for more than three decades. In that
time span she has won accolades from her peers, fans and the
music industry alike.
Don Omar, the "king of reggaeton," is a top Billboard Latin Music
Awards finalist in 18 award categories. Known as a champion of social media with a substantial digital following, Omar continually
ranks on Billboard's Social 50 chart.
Mexican group La Arrolladora Banda el Limon, is also scheduled to perform. Led by Rene Camacho, the band from Sinaloa,
Mexico, has been together since 1997 and thriving in regional Mexican music with 30 albums to date. The act is a seven-time
finalist.
Ortiz, who was discovered on YouTube just a few years ago, has created a musical revolution thanks to his innovative
compositions which have been highly successful with a bilingual and bicultural generation. Ortiz is up for six awards.
Telo, who hails from Brazil, became a global musical sensation last year with his hit "Ai Se Eu Te Pego!." Up for seven awards,
the artist had his U.S. debut in 2012 at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
Vives, the Colombian singer, composer and actor, returns to the stage with the new album "Corazón Profundo." The first single
"Volvi A Nacer" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards is the longest running show in Latin music and honors the most popular albums, songs and
performers as determined by actual sales, radio airplay, streaming and social data based on Billboard's weekly charts.
The Billboard Latin Music Conference precedes the awards show. Now in its 24th year, the multiple-day event, also presented by
