6. State Museum Expansion
Windows to New Worlds!
A multi-dimensional facility for science education and public cultural
enrichment planned to open at the South Carolina State Museum
22. Fuel Cell Collaborative
The Fuel Cell Collaborative was formed by the University of South Carolina, the City of Columbia, EngenuitySC, Midlands
Technical College and SCRA to position Columbia, SC as a leader in hydrogen and fuel cell innovation and technology.
Each of our 5 member organizations brings a critical set of unique abilities to help foster the growth of new technologies and
fuel cell firms. Together, our members create a welcoming environment for partners to thrive locally in Columbia, S.C. and in
the global industry.
The Fuel Cell Collaborative’s mission is to discover, develop and deploy the world’s leading fuel cell technologies from the
heart of the Palmetto State.
The Fuel Cell Collaborative:
Discovers and recruits the next generation of innovators, talent, and researchers
Develops technologies and sustainable, thriving firms that will change the face of the fuel cell market
Deploys projects and businesses into the marketplace through supportive collaborations and lasting relationships with
private sector, higher education, government and community leaders
23. Fuel Cell Collaborative
With one of the state’s two hydrogen fueling stations,
the City of Columbia is a prime metropolitan area for
launching pilot programs with hydrogen and fuel cell
vehicles or backup power, and showcasing public
demonstrations like existing units at the University of
South Carolina and the U.S. Army’s Fort Jackson.
The Fuel Cell Collaborative has access
to some of the world’s leading
innovators and researchers in
Columbia, S.C. Working with its
partners, the Fuel Cell Collaborative
creates collaborations and
relationships that bring the tools and
resources necessary to maintain our
status as a world-class fuel cell
community.
