SPECIAL NEWS
 Japan core machine orders rose 8.8 percent on month in
June, the Cabinet Office said on Thursday, worth 745.8 bil-
lion yen. The headline figure followed the record 19.5 per-
cent decline in May. On a yearly basis, core machine orders
dipped 3.0 percent following the 14.3 percent contraction
in the previous month.
 Retail sales in New Zealand jumped a seasonally adjusted
1.2 percent on quarter in the second quarter of 2014, Statis-
tics New Zealand said on Thursday. The headline figure
topped forecasts for an increase of 1.0 percent following the
upwardly revised 0.8 percent gain in the first quarter
(originally 0.7 percent). In actual terms, the value of total
retail sales was NZ$18.2 billion in the June 2014 quarter, up
3.8 percent compared with the June 2013 quarter.
COMMODITY BUZZ
 COMEX Gold gained on follow up buying today after a
wild run in last session. The metal cruised towards $1320
per ounce levels amid excellent buying but gave up amid
nervousness in equities last evening. Similar trend is being
seen today as poor economic data from Japan and China
are keeping equities under check in Asia. COMEX Gold
futures are trading at $1314 per ounce, up $3 per ounce on
the day. Prices had hit a three week high around$1325
per ounce last Friday. MCX Gold futures for October are
trading at Rs 28702 per 10grams, down Rs 30 per 10 grams
on the day. The counter had edged up towards Rs
28900levels in last session.
 Copper on MCX faced the worst pressure on Wednesday,
erasing all hopes for resilience. The prices were moving
sharply lower when last checked at Rs 424 per kg, down
0.92%.
 The selling in Copper has been triggered due to the rise in
supplies in world major Copper mines, which a fear was
lingering on the metal. Reports of half year by OZ miner-
als and Glencore Xstrata were released today showing im-
proved numbers of Copper supplies.
