Carol Filen
Carol has been with Starboard Apparel from the very
beginning. With comprehensive technical & creative
experienceherinvolvementandexpertiseismoreevident
than ever. Her eternal love of action sports combined
with a profound passion for design comes through in the
collections where she has created products that are both
functional and stylish.
Caileigh Pentz
Passionate about Product Design and creating beautiful,
multi-functional products that exceed expectation, while
being environmentally conscious of where our products
come from is what drives Caileigh in her daily pursuit.
With a high attention to detail and an obsessive quest
for quality, Caileigh joined the Starboard Apparel product
team in 2013 to assist this dynamic force to elevate it to
new heights. Caileigh is inspired by the outdoors, sports
and the action sports arena and is an active participant
in all fields.
Graham Wiles
Graham Wiles was born in the urban surfing utopia of
Durban, South Africa. From an early age he immersed
himself in a world of Visual Communication and action
sport. Shortly after completing his studies he headed
to Cape Town, and ended up on the doorstep of the
Starboard group, where his portfolio and talent set him
on the long road to becoming one of the key creative
minds in the industry.

Josh Salie
As the Category Manager, Josh Salie is the anchor of the
Starboard Apparel division. Having grown up competing
in the South Africa surfing circuit he decided to take
off the competition jersey to pursue a career in Sports
Management. Since joining the Starboard team as an
R&D rider in 2014, he now heads up everything from
prototype testing to sales and marketing. Josh’s unique
understanding of the dynamics of wave riding in all types
of conditions on various types of boards makes him an
important connection between the consumer and the
product development team.
Bradley Dennis
For Bradley Dennis, living his whole life in Cape Town, a
love for the ocean and outdoors was a natural evolution
for one of the newest members of the Starboard Team.
Having grown up on the beach and surfing in one of the
most beautiful cities in the world he went on to study
Marketing Communications. His passion for brands and
love of the ocean comes across in the communication of
the Starboard brand.
Tao Farren
Raised in Cape Town, Tao has surfed for 10 years in and
around the local beach breaks. From this he has gone
on to longboard competitively on a national level. He has
a passion for filmmaking and went on to graduate from
AFDA film school with the best cinematography award.
As the Multimedia Producer for Starboard he has turned
his love for both the sea and film making into a career
where he creates and develops all media elements for
the brand.

With this collection the focus has been
to design and build a layering system
that is lightweight and flexible while keeping
your body at it’s optimum temperature during
performance. Built from 100% waterproof
and windproof weather adapting materials
that are breathable and lightweight, the
thermal fabrics trap warm air and wick
moisture away from the body while the
Aerodome Neoprene increases ventilation,
buoyancy and flexibility.
The products in this collection will keep you
warm and comfortable while still giving you
the freedom of movement in the coldest of
climates. A well-planned collection built on
a layering system to systematically regulate
your body temperature according to the
environmental conditions. Consisting of
base, mid, and outer layers, all pieces can
be worn individually or together as part of
the layering system.
The Clima-Core Technology is a wind and
waterproof membrane, which independently
reacts to changing temperatures and activities.
Depending on the situation, breathability or
heat-retention increases or decreases. As a
result, this controls your body temperature.
This membrane is durable, 100% wind and
waterproof and therefore provides protection
in all weather conditions.

Collection. This collection offers the lightest and
most flexible products in our range. With the use
of lightweight fabric technology, this collection
strives for non-restrictive movement, protection

The items in the collection are built from our
S-Series Ultra Lite fabric that offers fast moisture
wicking and a comfortable fit. While the shelter

offers protection from harsher elements such as
windy and rainy conditions.
The S-Series Ultra Lite Technology is a skin series
fabric composed of a single layer, ultra-light denier
construction that wicks moisture quickly while
offering protection from the elements. The anti-

4-Way Stretch performs on a dual axis path,
pulling length and widthwise thereby improving

your limits in greater comfort. A free flowing, ultra-
lightweight fabric that is soft on the skin, taming

A DWR (Durable Water-Repellency) coating has

IF this is the case, choose the size from your
chest measurement.
How to choose the right size:
Most measurements are given in inches.
Therefore, if your body measurement is in
between two sizes, choose the bigger size for
a loose fit and a smaller size for a tighter fit.
Measuring Your Body:
1. Chest
The chest is measured by going around the
broadest part while keeping the tape in a
horizontal position.
2. Waist
The waste is measured by going around the
body at the narrowest point (usually the small of
the back and where your body bends from side
to side) while keeping the tape in a
horizontal position
2. Hip
The hip is measured by going around the body
at the widest point of the hips while keeping the
tape in a horizontal position.
