To whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter to recommend Evan Martinez to you. Evan has worked for me and for
Muzzy Lane as a contract game designer and programmer on several projects, and has been
very successful. In 2014, Evan worked with us on design and programming of a series of quests
for an immersive language-learning game, Practice Spanish. Evan is very sharp, and was able to
quickly get up to speed with a variety of in-house tools to create and program what essentially
are level designs for the quests. This included programming complex interactive conversations,
and setting up 3d scenes with characters, animation, lighting and complex choreography. Evan
was very productive, hitting his deadlines and pushing to create the highest quality quests. We
were working against a tight deadline, and Evan was dedicated and responsible, putting extra
effort where needed to solve difficult issues and get the work done. He did this with a positive
attitude, and worked well with other team members, helping others as well as getting his own
work done.
Most recently, Evan has worked for us remotely on rebuilding a series of quests for the same
language-learning game using Unity. Evan was our most productive content programmer on the
project, getting his quests done quickly, and again pitching in to help other team members. Evan
did a great job as a remote worker- communicating effectively with everyone, planning is work
carefully, and hitting all his deadlines.
Although Evan’s work with us was mostly content design, we had a few chances to work with
him on more open-ended game design problems, and he showed a good grasp of game design
fundamentals and strength in recognizing obstacles and designing around them.
While Muzzy Lane does not have a position available at Evan’s level currently, we would
certainly consider him for a position in the future. I recommend Evan to you very highly based
on the excellent work he has done for us, and a game designer and content/level designer and
