In this study, we undertake a more holistic approach by incorporating two more (in addition to Technological Maturity) dimensions of GIT Maturity of an organization: Functional Maturity and Societal Maturity. Functional maturity pertains to organizational processes (how Green IT is used in business processes) while societal maturity pertain stakeholders in organization’s value-web (presence of Green IT in vendor organizations). The expected outcome of the study would a Green IT Maturity Model (GIMM) that examines Green IT readiness and maturity for any organization.

Abstract
Green IT (GIT) refers to environmental impact of an organization’s IT infrastructure.. For example,
presence of technological products that have long life span reduce the machine waste and
presence of environment-friendly server farms reduce heat generation. However, such an outlook
examines only the technological maturity of any organization towards GIT. Although it is critical
aspect of GIT, there are other facets that need consideration while assessing Green IT readiness
