16. EMPLOYMENT (No of persons employed from 1996 to 2000) Employment Trend Employment in manufacturing fell by 1.4% in 1997 to rise by 4% annually until 2000. Employment in EPZ has been rising continuously. However employment in sugar milling has been falling .
