This presentation contains basic instructions for students at UL who wish to use Blackboard for the first time.

1. WELCOME TO Backboard Training for students Dr F. Rahimi, Academic Computing Support, ICT, UL

2. Course Objectives At the end of the training you will know: What Blackboard is, How to access Blackboard, How to access your course material online(Internet), Your own id and initial password on the system

3. What is Blackboard? It is a Web-based course-management system It is designed for Online classes; Online materials; and Activities to complement face-to-face teaching

4. What is Blackboard used for? It enables instructors to provide students with Course materials, Discussion boards, Virtual chat, Online tests/Assignments, and more

5. What you need to get Started! PC with Internet connection Web browser (Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or higher or Internet Explorer) Obtain Usernameand Password Skills for Browsing Internet

6. Logging into system Open a web browser. Go to: http://10.1.254.60or http://TMLEARN.ul.ac.za,

7. Logging in Enter your username (Student #) And password (initially your student #).
