How to use Cinnamon for Weight Loss
Cinnamon is a very common spice used by many cultures around the world for
thousand of years. It goes well with both desserts (aka cinnamon buns, cakes etc)
and as well as salty goods as well like curries, toasts etc.
Cinnamon is a rich source of manganese, iron, calcium and fiber. Cinnamon has been
used to treat diarrhea, indigestion, bloating and even as immune booster. Recent
research has shown that cinnamon can effectively lower blood sugar levels. This can
directly lead to reduced fat accumulation in the body.Learn how to effectively

How to use cinnamon for weight loss
Numerous studies have shown that cinnamon is a blood sugar stabilizer.See
References[1], [2], [3]. This makes it a great choice not only for diabetics but also
for people trying to lose those extra pounds.
When we eat, our body converts digestible carbohydrates into blood sugar (glucose),
our main source of energy. Our pancreas creates a hormone called insulin that
transports blood sugar into our body's cells where it is used for energy.
If we eat more than we need to (overeating!), the blood sugar rises, the pancreas
goes into overdrive to produce more and more insulin. This insulin surge tells our
body there is plenty of energy available. Once our energy needs are met, insulin will
store all the extra glucose as body fat for later use.

Read: Why and How we get fat?
Because of the cinnamons affect in controlling the blood sugar, there is less insulin in
our system, causing our body to store less fat.
What is Insulin?
Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas which regulates glucose levels in the
blood. Fat accumulation in the body is controlled by a hormone called insulin.
What is Insulin resistance?
is a condition in which your cells don't respond to the hormone insulin, leading to an
increase in insulin secretion and high blood sugar levels. It not only contributes to
the development of diabetes, but also increases your risk for heart disease, obesity
and kidney ailments.
People who are insulin resistance have reduced insulin sensitivity.
What is Insulin sensitivity?
This is opposite of insulin resistance. People who are insulin sensitive require
relatively normal or low levels of insulin to process the glucose in their system.
Consumption of cinnamon leads to lowered blood sugar means less insulin in the
system which in turn implies reduced fat storage.

How to incorporate cinnamon in your daily diet?
• Use cinnamon in any food you cook.
• Add to your smoothies.
• Add teaspoon of cinnamon to your cereal, toast, fruits
• Make cinnamon tea. (my favourite)
Boil some water. Add a teaspoon of cinnamon to it. Let it steep for 5-10
mins. Strain and enjoy your cinnamon tea. Cinnamon capsules are also
available but I have never tried them. Try to eat cinnamon with your food.
Summary
Just like green tea and other supplements, cinnamon can be used against your fight
against fat. Use cinnamon wisely in conjunction with a balanced and healthy diet and
proper exercise program and watch that fat melting off.
