1. In what ways does your media
product use, develop, challenge
forms and conventions of real media
products?
Thea Staff
2. My music video uses the typical conventions of a
real media product through;
• Clothes, all the clothes show off her
figure, accentuating the breasts and how slim
she is.
• Actions, she has a seductive feel about her
throughout the video.
• Different outfits, this follows the typical
conventions of music video as time doesn’t
seem to go by however she is still in different
outfits in different shots.
• Lip sycning in some videos they only show a
story that is being told and no one is singing
however I have followed the typical stereotypes
of a music video by having this in my video.
3. Clothes show of her figure
In this small still from my music video you can see that
she is small and has a slim figure which is a good thing
in the music video industry. She is also very photogenic
which meant that from most angles she looked good
which made it a lot easier to film.
4. Her Actions are seductive
The way she is laying and the placement of her hands and legs although subtle
comes across as provocative.
5. Different Oufits
The different
outfits show that
she is fashionable
and glamorous. In
the video this
makes her come
across as strong.
Which is how I
wanted her to
come across
because she is
finally getting rid
of the boyfriend
who is oppressing
her.
7. My magazine advert conforms to typical media conventions as it has the HMV and
itunes logo at the bottom to show where you can find the single. The outfit she is
wearing shows her figure and as she is looking into the distance shows that she does
not want to stay with this rubbish boyfriend of hers. The writing is typical of that of a
magazine advert and it’s the same with the different font.
8. Challenges media conventions
The only way that my music video challenges
the typical music video conventions is the fact
that her boyfriend is a teddy bear. This is
somewhat ironic as you could argue that its
because most males are uninterested in the
relationships that they are in . You could also
say that in relationships males are inanimate
objects that do nothing.
9. In this particular scene the girl gets her boyfriend a drink. He is obviously too
lazy to do it himself. She chucks a drink at him because she reads a text that she
doesn’t like.
You don’t actually see the text but the song hints at the fact that this is what has
happened.
