Stephen Reeder is an experienced real estate executive based in Redlands, California. The chief executive officer of The UCR Group, Stephen Reeder supports charitable organizations such as the John Wayne Cancer Foundation (JWCF) Founded in memory of John Wayne, who beat lung cancer in 1964, the John Wayne Cancer Foundation is a charitable organization that funds innovative programs and research that improve the treatment of cancer and save lives through education, support, and awareness. As part of this work, JWCF funds three grants that advance cancer research initiatives. First, the John Wayne Alumni Fellows is a grant program that benefits medical professionals who have completed the John Wayne Surgical Oncology program. It provides alumni fellows with adequate funding to perform clinical research in surgical oncology. The most recent grantees include Mark Faries, MD, David Ollila, MD, and Juan Santamaria. The second grant program is the Funded Cancer Research program. This program allows the JWCF to fund the John Wayne Clinical Research Lecture at the Society for Surgical Oncology International Conference. The most recent speaker, Jatin P. Shah, MD, presented a talk titled New Avenues to Uplift Global Quality of Care in Surgical Oncology. Finally, the John Wayne Cancer Foundation provides educational funding for The John Wayne Critical Issues in Breast Cancer Forum: Special Considerations in Breast Cancer.

Please share this webinar with anyone who may be interested! Watch all our webinars: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4dDQscmFYu_ezxuxnAE61hx4JlqAKXpR Webinar Information: The cancer survivor community knows the statistics about cancer all too well: that nearly half of all Canadians will develop cancer over the course of their lives, and that a quarter of them are forecasted to die from the disease. There are dozens of less prevalent cancer types that face significant and different challenges in terms of organization, research and support. The prognosis for many rare cancers is improving as new treatments are developed, however, in Canada, getting access to new therapies and clinical trials is one of many challenges faced by small communities often struggling with the disease and dealing with life’s myriad other challenges. This webinar will explore what individual caregivers can do, how groups can work together to pool resources and share best practices and information, and provide concrete recommendations for the broader cancer community in Canada. You will learn more about how patients are working with each other, and with the clinical and research community and health systems, to improve the lives of Canadians affected by rare cancers! Presenters: • David Josephy, President of GIST Sarcoma Life Raft Group Canada • Martine Elias, Director of Access, Advocacy & Community Relations with Myeloma Canada • Durhane Wong-Rieger, President & CEO of the Canadian Organization for Rare Disorders (CORD) • Bill Dempster, 3Sixty Public Affairs View the video: https://youtu.be/L3mqpu-iFU0 Follow our social media accounts: Twitter - https://twitter.com/survivornetca Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/CanadianSurvivorNet Pinterest - https://www.pinterest.com/survivornetwork YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/user/Survivornetca

A Redlands, California resident, Stephen Reeder serves as CEO of the UCR Group. Stephen Reeder engages in many philanthropic activities and supports non-profit organizations such as the John Wayne Cancer Foundation. In September 2021, the John Wayne Cancer Foundation donated to the University of California, Irvine. The donation and gift are meant to help the university do more research and expand or improve its activities and services in surgical oncology. With the funding and UCI's cutting-edge technology, doctors can make groundbreaking discoveries and provide people with cancer with therapies and treatments to improve their quality of life and health. This marked the first program ever created by the foundation at UCI, with both parties benefiting from the other's resources and technology. The surgical oncology fellowship program is not the first activity in which the John Wayne Cancer Foundation collaborates with UCI. In the past, it also started an initiative entitled Block the Blaze right on the campus.

Running head: REFORMATION OF CANCER RESEARCH 1 REFORMATION OF CANCER RESEARCH 6 Reformation of Cancer Research Student College Research Proposal Should the cancer guidelines increase research funding towards recalcitrant cancers? Due to the controversy surrounding undetectable or terminal cancers, the issue has arrived in regards to making sure that funding is provided for these cancers as they are for other forms of cancers that are more likely to see survivors. This proposal will explore the feasibility in the exploration of recalcitrant cancers. Reformation of Cancer Research Introduction According to a nation-wide study conducted in 2009 by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), one in two people in the United States will be diagnosed with at least one type of cancer throughout their lifetime (“Surveillance”, n.d.). With such a shocking statistic, it is extremely imperative that American research teams continually update their practices of cancer research. Researchers must frequently analyze their active research strategies in order to remain up to date with the latest statistics and trends in the cancer world along with adjusting their research focus based on current statistical data. Key point 1 Claim: Despite their efforts, however, research is severely lacking with many styles of cancer. Regrettably, many of the types of cancers which lack research are some of the most terminal forms of cancer. These terminal cancers are known as recalcitrant cancers, and are classified as having less than a fifty percent chance of living more than five years (“Congressional Budget”, 2012). In order to become a well versed nation, the United States government must begin to shift their research focus toward recalcitrant cancers. Opposing viewpoint: Currently, cancer research groups are doing a superb job in analyzing several types of cancer and have made many ground breaking discoveries in both pre-emptive and post diagnostic procedures for multiple forms of cancer. Rebuttal: Current research practices in the United States have focused a large majority of their funding on a minute amount of the cancers known. As a result of this practice, many recalcitrant cancers have become severely limited as far as the amount of research being done. In the 2010 fiscal year, the National Cancer Institute published a document showing the allocation of research funds for specific types of cancers. Key point 2 Claim: In order to move forward with cancer research, the amount of funds allocated need to be redirected into the recalcitrant cancers that in the past have not received much funding. Cancers such as pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, esophageal cancer and ovarian cancer fall into this category (Healy, 2013). Each of the above mentioned cancers are in dire need of research in order to effectively gain knowledge on the disease process. As of today, .

This article aims to demonstrate that the Lula government is faced with two major challenges in its effort to promote Brazil's economic and social development. The first challenge, of an economic nature, is represented by the obstacles that exist with the spending cap policy, despite the flexibility provided by the fiscal framework and the existence of an independent Central Bank, which make the Brazilian government unable to coordinate its fiscal and monetary policies, make public investments in the expansion of the economy and obtain macroeconomic stability and, the second challenge, of a political nature, is represented by the obstacles existing in the National Congress due to the fact that it does not have a majority in parliament, which prevents the federal government from putting its national developmental project into practice and fully meet social demands. For Brazil's progressive forces to re-elect President Lula in the 2026 presidential elections and obtain a parliamentary majority in the National Congress committed to political, economic and social advances, the Lula government will have to be successful on the economic front, promoting the expansion of the economy, increasing significantly generating jobs and income, keeping inflation under control and meeting the maximum social demands that benefit, above all, the country's underserved populations. Brazil's progressive forces need to commit, starting from the 2024 municipal elections, towards to elect the maximum number of mayors and councilors committed to Brazil's political, economic and social advances. These are the conditions to prevent, in 2026, right-wing extremists from regaining the Presidency of the Republic, expanding their participation in state governments and the National Congress and putting their nefarious anti-social and anti-national project into practice.

Article in The Times of Israel by Andy Blumenthal: This is not about free speech but about a takeover of America. These vile terrorist supporters are using our very Constitution against us as they falsely cry Islamophobia and free speech, all the while impeding, threatening, and committing acts of violence against students, citizens, and an orderly democracy. It is time for Americans to stop being complacent or fooled by their terrorist talking points and rhetoric of hate, racism, and Communist ideology. In the face of this evil, we are finally seeing Patriots emerge, proudly carrying and defending the American flag, singing the Star-Spangled Banner, and boldly chanting USA!
