2. Never fill the pan than a third full with fat or oil.

3. Never leave the pan unattended with the heat ON even for a few seconds .

4. DRY THE CHIPS BEFORE PUTTING THEM IN PAN Before you put the chips in the pan, test the temperature of oil, by putting in the small piece of bread.

5. Never put the chips if the oil begins to give off smoke. Turn off the heat and leave the oil to cool, otherwise it could catch fire.

6. If pan catches the FIRE Do not move the pan.

7. Drop a damp tea cloth or towel, over the pan to smother the flames. Never throw water on to the fire.
