The Netherfield Ball
The ball did not started
well for Elizabeth,
and Mr. Wickham
didn´t go, Mr. Collins
didn’t dance well, she
danced with Mr. Darcy,
and they were talking
about Mr. Wickham.
3. Chapter 7
An Engagement
Mr. Collings wanted to talk with
Elizabeth, and Mrs. Bennet agreed.
He say her that he had the
intention to marry her, but she
refused.
Knowing this situation, Mr. and
Mrs. Bennet tell her that if she
didn’t marry him, they were not
going to recognize her as their
daughter, and she has to accept.
4. Chapter 8
Christmas at Longbourn
A Mrs. Bennet’s brother arrived
with his beautiful wife, Mr. and
Mrs. Gardiner. They were at
Bennet’s house for Christmas
and they offered them a lot of
presents.
Mrs. Gardiner talks with Jane
about Mr. Bingley and she was
shamed for her because she
thinks that Mr. Bingley feels
anything for Jane, and Elizabeth
says that it isn’t true.
5. Chapter 9
Lady Cathernine de Bourgh
Elizabeth and Mr. Collins
were invited to dinner at
Rosings. Mr. Collins said that
she had to dress their best
clothes, because Lady
Catherine likes people to
dress correctly for their
position in the world.
During the dinner, Lady
Catherine asked Elizabeth
about her daughters and she
said that is impossible that
five girls were “out”.
6. Chapter 10
A refusal
Mr. Darcy says to Elizabeth
that he was in love with her,
and also that he could not
approve of her family, because
their position in the world was
much lower than his, but he
wanted to marry her.
Elizabeth refused his proposal
because he destroyed Jane’s
happiness keeping Mr. Bingley
away from her.
