SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
Skills Summary
Areas of Expertise:
2. 1. Cabin Assembly
Cabin is the major part in any of moving vehicle. This analysis was
performed to check the connection on the post of cabin under gravitational
load.
Analysis was done to check the structural integrity with respect to
Mountings and joints.
2. Intercity Bus installation.
The new air processing unit had to be installed in the truck for which a
bracket had to be designed. Many concepts were developed and analyzed for
the stress during the assembly and operating conditions. Analysis was done to
check the structural integrity.
Analysis was carried out with Nastran solver. Hypermesh and Ansa were
used for setting up the model.
3. Analysis of cooling lines (water pipes) and their attachment brackets for
diesel engines.
Diesel engine cooling systems were upgraded with new water pipes (lines)
for some typical land drilling operations. The lines were added on to the engine
with new brackets and additional clamp supports. These support brackets and
clamps were analyzed for the stress during the assembly and operating
conditions. Analysis was done to check the structural integrity with respect to
Bolted joints of newly designed lines.
Analysis is carried out with Abaqus solver and Hypermesh is used for setting
up the model. Non-linear analysis is performed to evaluate the bolts for
stresses. G loads were used in different directions to check for the stresses of
these components during operational condition.
Fatigue life of the bolts was also calculated.
4. Exhaust systems (DPF and Muffler design)
DPF (Diesel particulate filters) and mufflers are added into the exhaust systems
of the already running vehicle and generator sets as a part of upgrading
emission norms.
New designs of DPF and mufflers are analyzed with Static analysis were
performed their structural stability. The weld regions are checked for the
stresses and displacements.
Project Experience summary
3. 5. Analysis of Genset packages during lifting.
Genset packages are used on rental basis and involve lot of transportation
from one place to another. These packages have to be lifted as entire set and
lifting lugs of the base frame has to be designed to withstand these lifting
loads.
The welds and bolts around these lifting components are analyzed for
pretension loading and gravity loads in generator sets.
Generator sets consist of base frame, radiator, generator and engine
assemblies. These assemblies are interconnected with bolts that are analyzed
under gravity loads, which have bolted joints at base frame-radiator, base
frame-generator and base frame-engine.
Bolts are modeled with hexa elements and Contacts are applied between
interface surfaces. Non-linear analysis is performed to evaluate the bolts for
stresses at these joints.
6. F.E. Modeling
F.E. Modeling using ANSA and HYPERMESH
F.E. Modelling of off highway equipments, commercial vehicle components,
and car assemblies.
- chassis, cabin components, Construction equipments, engines, and accessories
such as Mounting tools, Generators, Base frame assemblies, Tank assemblies, Fuel
supply systems, Shipping stand, Exhaust systems, front floor assembly, Rear floor
assembly, closures(tail gate doors), BSO, Dash and cowl assembly, Trims, hood,
Bumpers etc. Work involves the meshing of components with shell and solid
elements and connections with 1D elements. Contact surfaces definitions are given
for corresponding mating parts.
