A Glimpse into Paul’s Ministry “For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of; for necessity is laid upon me; for woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel.” (1 Corinthians 9:16; ESV)
Introductory Questions Did Paul suffer for the gospel? Did Paul suffer because of the gospel? Did Paul suffer for churches?
Why Did Paul’s Rejoice? “Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church…” (Colossians 1:24; ESV; Emphasis mine-CMG)
Why Did Paul Become a Minister? “…of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known…” (Colossians 1:25; ESV)
What was Paul’s Purpose in Ministry? “…Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ…” (Colossians 1:28; ESV)
What was Paul’s Struggle? “For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face…” (Colossians 2:1; ESV)
