Education
• Push the kids further and move ahead in new
directions.
• Passive learning is over- teachers are facilitators of
independent learning.
Your children should be able to answer the following
questions about their learning in all subject areas.
1. What are we learning?- their learning goal
2. Why are we learning this?- how can it help them now,
not in the future.
3. How will I know when I have learn this?- the criteria
for the task

Dr Ken Robinson says - Personalised learning means the whole curriculum not just literacy and numeracy. We now have technology (ICT tools) to personalise learning for the first time in history. We MUST use it.
Personalised learning engages students and makes them aware of what they are learning (goal), why they are learning it (purpose), and how they will know when they have learned it (criteria). This is particularly important for boys who strive in a competitive environment.
My Belief is that the 4 C’s form the basis of 21st Century Learners. Having these sets of skills enables them to meet the demands of the 21st century and improves their self worth.
Self direction is the next most important part of being a 21st century learner and inquiry learning certainly promotes this. Boys particularly enjoy being able to direct their own learning into an area that interests them.
Leaders/admin lead from the bottom and facilitate growth of staff so they implement the 4C’s into their lives. This then transfers from the leaders to the teachers and finally at the top of the pyramid to the children who will acquire the 4C’s that they need to be successful in the 21st Century.
