Live & online participants have different needs. Prepare content to
       attract an online audience and engage them to keep them
                    interested. Share your program.

4. When choosing your event venue, check its internet
                       facilities

   Make sure there is free, fast and stable wifi, especially for
     international conferences. Make the internet connection’s
    availibility (uploadspeed minimum 4MB) and affordability a
        deciding factor if you want to livestream your event.

         5. Appoint an online chair(wo)man

Regardless if hybrid for your event means Twitter, livestream,
       LinkedIn discussions, Google Hangout or truly hybrid
   (live&online from the start): you need someone to host and
      moderate the conversations. A new role: the virtual MC,
                       online chair (wo)man.

Reach out in many ways but at least: inform your speakers

We never met live stream partners who blew up. Possible troubles
       pop up with sound and lighting. A good indicator is TV
                    experience of your AV partner.

  1. Openingszin! Wat zijn hybrid events: uitleg MPI onderzoek en eigen interpretatie (live & online living apart together)
  2. My experience in 2012 – FRESH, EventExhibition in NL, Associations Congress in Liverpool, Financial Takshow – different formats
  3. Primary group and social media group, don’t want, not invited, cannot and didn’t know, design a program for that group, from the begiining, not as an add-on but as another event: you will organsie two events.
  4. Biggest learning. Yes I want to join online. Never seen that people choose between live or online, People choose to go or not to go. Hybrid is not cannibalizing on live events. It’s a myth. Not eating away. Make sure you identify these people, because then you can reach out to them.
  5. Share your program because nobody will cross a full day for an online event. Think about experience…as much online. Start as early as possible and consider which part you want to do live which online etc.
  6. Human side. If we organsie hybrid events our team is: virtual MC, social media moderator en stagemanager. More and more talkshow format!
  7. Not only questions, but also interaction. Polls etc. Live audience is not so much interested in online, but online is in online!
  8. 50 – 80 x online, buzz on the floor and live experience. Talking costs: think about extra sponsorpossibilities Indication price: € 10.000,00 - € 20.000,00.
  9. Bv virtual goodiebag, winetasting etc.
