6. REAPER 4.22
Imported sound files are visualized in REAPER as virtual regions:
Mouse cursor changes its function automatically while moving on the project over the
regions:
- which can be pulled (“opened”/”closed”/“stretched“/“extended“/”dublicated“) from the edges
reducing the sounding region or restoring the original length;
- which allow to change the volume of each region separately;
*
*NB! The screenshot function didn't allow to keep the waveform visible.
7. REAPER 4.22
Imported sound files are visualized in REAPER as virtual regions:
- open on the left Menu Bar (track list) separate Pan track [panoram: L(left)/R(right) channels
(orange)] and Volume track (green) → both can be manipulated graphically → to add dots to
the lines (Envelope Points) to get a more detailed contour press SHIFT button while indicating
with a mouse click the needed point on the line.

MOST IMPORTANT function to be necessarily applicated to the region is the Fade-in/out of the
Regions (fine tuning) avoiding remaining disturbing clicks which would degrade the quality of the
sound more and more after each separate manipulation or normalizing.
Finishing and exporting (render)
After finishing your project you need to mark
(with the mouse cursor) the whole area of your
regions and export (render/bounce) the project
or the marked regions into a joint stereo file
(master mix) sampling rate 44100 Hz etc. as
WAV or AIFF. Reaper also allows (using LAME
like Audacity) exporting to mp3 Keep the
automatic settings, these are working
standards.
If you want to manipulate a region in REAPER
(not in Audacity) you need to re-name the new
file, if not all the changes will be applicated
simultaneously to all multiplicated regions with
the same name.
Use REAPER for refining (panorama, final mix)
and composing (exporting) sound tracks with
multiple regions.
