The unit is an ocean shipping 6 feet container that has above its
roof an inclined photovoltaic (PV) array that can produce
electricity and harvest rain water.
Solar vacuum tubes on South side will warm up water for house
uses or to distill salt or contaminated water in the inner 200 liter
tank.
The container is the most robust structure conceivable, easy to
transport and place. It can be partially buried or covered with
wood, green and garden.

The solar water heater system is an indoor stainless steel tank, properly
insulated in order to keep nigh-time temperature drop around 5°C in
standard conditions, that contains around 200 liters of liquid (simple water,
anti-freezing water, salt or contaminated water, etc…) to be heated by 20
vacuum glass tubes (check SPARE PARTS) outside the unit on the South side
and by an electric backup.
The vacuum tubes have a glass heat pipe on the top, i.e. a small glass dome
that gets inside the tank and can quickly heat up water and prevent water
to get out in case for some reasons the external glass tubes brakes. Outside,
below these tubes there is room for other uses, for example a small green
house or an outdoor wood deposit.
On the same side there is the outlet connection of the heat exchanger that
can instantaneously warm up water if it flows through it and the outlet of the
clean water (not drinkable, we suggest to install our UV filter, see LIFESTYLE in
OPTIONALS). This heat exchanger inside the tank is hermetically separated
from the inner liquid preserving the quality of the input water and have a
negligible pressure drop.

The photovoltaic roof is composed of six 180Wp mono-cristalline solar
modules connected in parallel to a control panel with fuse protection (and
spares) for safety standards. The panel is connected to a charge controller
to charge batteries (we suggest 6 lead gel batteries, 12V and 120Ah each
for a total energy storage of 8.64 kWh) and prevent batteries from deep
discharge or other potential damages.
The number of batteries is actually overestimated but allows to save always
more than 30% of battery charge raising battery lifetime (floating life at 20°C
is designed for 12 years but ordinary lead batteries with decent
maintenance have been working for more than 30years). A solar inverter
(see OPTIONALS) can be connected to these batteries to provide standard
(220V or 110V at 50Hz) alternate current (AC) that can be taken from a plug
next to it and directly wired through a 30m wire (see OPTIONALS) to the
house ready to plug, on a multi-outlet (see OPTIONALS) on the other end of
the wire, any device. The batteries and the electric components are all
mounted on the opposite wall from the water systems in order to protect it
from possible water leaks or splashes and below the batteries additional
storage space is available for extras (like bigger pumps, hydrogen
electrolyze, UV water filter, wind turbine accessories, etc…).

Our patented water cleaning solution integrates renewable energies and water
treatments in the OGB. Eventual exceeding heat (produced by both the solar
thermal vacuum tubes outside the box and by an electric water heater inside the
tank fed by the exceeding electricity from photovoltaic once the batteries are full
and when there is no demand from the house) is used to warm up the liquid inside
the tank up to its boiling temperature. When the boiling point is reached the water
vapors (steam) goes up in a stainless steel corrugated pipe that runs on the West
wall of the OGB until the vapors is condensed. There is an exit after our patented
separator, for the condensed water (pure H2O) that pours in a removable 30 liters
storage allowing domestic uses (washing, ironing, potential drinking,…). The
patented separator sends out of the OGB (Northern wall) the residual vapors,
preventing the hot vapors from damaging the vessel or raise moisture inside the
box. In case of sea (and not contaminated) water the pure distilled water (H2O) is
mixed back again with sea water (a cup in a full 30 liters tank, see
PERFORMANCES) in order to get enough minerals to be defined drinkable. An
electric pump is able to pump water outside from the 2000 liters storage to be
used directly or warmed up through a passage in the solar water heated (i.e. the
pump is indoor connected with the cold water inlet of the solar water heater tank).
This pump can push 17 liter per minute of water absorbing 450W and lifting the
water up to 30 meter (see OPTIONALS).
