1) Confluence is a collaboration software used for technical documentation, project tracking, knowledge management, and more. It has grown significantly in users and plugins over the past year. 2) Recent releases of Confluence have included new features like improved Office 2007 support, page restrictions, and bundled page templates. The upcoming 3.3 release will include a new blog layout, notifications, and security improvements. 3) Atlassian is working on improvements to the editor experience in Confluence to make it faster, simpler and richer. A new editor core is being developed to improve stability and allow for more advanced features.
