Service Manager
(Current Fleet approx.2800 including 45, 34 seater buses, passenger cars & 4x4 vehicles)
Motivate and lead the workshop service team towards achieving the Company's goal.
Manage daily operations in the workshops.
Implement customer service activities. Maintain and enhance customer satisfaction level.
Maintain and further improve the performance of the workshop operations.
Ensure workshop facilities and equipments are up running and well maintained.
Ensure timely submission of workshop performance reports.
Established an appointment system to control daily work flow through the shop with minimal
vehicle down time to improve customer satisfaction.
Focus on problem solving and team building skills to improve customer relations at the
corporate level for long term customer retention in sales and service.
Focusing on, expanding service department operations, improved customer sales in the service
department, quality issues and customer satisfaction challenges.
Responsible for developing staff, the workshop and profitability, ensuring the workshop operates
efficiently and provides outstanding customer service.
Manage all workshop activities ensuring the overall effectiveness and continual development of
the workshop and its staff. To maximize profitability and minimize cost with effective
management of resources and assets.
Leading and motivating the team using best practice management techniques,
Provide training, guidance and support on a broad range of mechanical & electrical repairs and
general maintenance.
Coordinate processes and new initiatives within the workshop.
Ensure that consistently high standards of vehicle maintenance and repair are delivered by the
workshop team.
Responsible for maintaining the efficiency and workflow of the main workshop.
Acts as a role model - shaping culture of effectiveness by own example; exceeds client’s
expectations thus portraying a positive image of RENT A CAR to the client.
Ensure that all activities undertaken comply with company policies and procedures and are
carried out after full communication and co-operation with the relevant Operations Manager.
Ensure that the workshop area and equipment are kept in a manner that adheres to the
Company policy.
Ensure that any people working within the workshop or on any machinery adhere to quality and
procedures
At all times ensure that good quality preventive maintenance (PM) are completed on time
without going overdue.
2. Support the Workshop Manager / Supervisor regarding any technical issues that may arise
during workshop activities.
Co-ordinate materials/stores personnel with any technical queries that may arise during parts
receipt process of company.
Prepare and issue technical work scopes, ensuring that they contain appropriate instructions
and information to carry out the agreed task.
Maintain and develop good working relations with qualified vendors and sub-contractors.
Assist purchasing to develop and create cost effective pricing agreements with vendors.
Liaise with planning and workshop staff to manage ongoing workshop activities.
Liaising with the operation Manager to ascertain various repair costs.
Liaising with the accounts manager to ascertain historic and current costs of various repairs.

Services including the effective outsourcing of workshop repair service ensuring contractual and
internal business commitments are maintained.
Managing workshop staff including recruitment of staff, staff training, performance reviews,
motivation, staff development & general employment related issues.
Manage and maintain effective administrative control relating to workshop staff, processes and
procedures.
Coordinate and resolve any technical issues arising in the Workshop.
Establish the causes of any increased maintenance costs, or reduced margins for corrective
action plans to be made.
In own location each week, manage the work planning and ensure that the workshop is loaded
with work to maximum capacity one week in advance.
Ensure that all available manpower is fully utilized on all shifts and is productive.
Achieved profit growth of 48% from Body shop repairs.
• Oversee zero break-down of fleet.
• Conduct regulation of inventory status for spare parts; ensuring availability of spares at the
time of break down & for the preventive schedule.
• Checking and calibrating instruments to make sure they are accurate.
• Carrying out quality inspections.
• Responding immediately to fleet breakdowns.
