3. About St. Baldrick’s Fight
 Cancer claims more children than any other
childhood disease. Few measures exist to
prevent cancer in kids, and what works for
adults may not work for them. Side effects of
treatment last well into the adult years and
cause serious problems.
The primary fundraising method for St.
Baldrick’s is head-shaving by a volunteer in
solidarity with an ill child. Volunteers seek
sponsorship in the form of donations for
shaving their heads, and they attend group
events in support of the cause. St. Baldrick’s
passed the $100 million in donations mark in
2012.

million in research grants around the
world for 15 types of cancer that affect
