Editor's Notes
<<Opening>> We have prepared an overview of our company – some facts, some elements of our offering that I am most proud of. Things that I bet will surprise you – even those of you who think you know who and what Manpower is. Any questions you have during the presentation are welcome so just feel free to chime in as we go along.
As a global organization we span 80 countries. Most perform all the services shown here like we do in the U.S. Some of those countries can only do permanent placement by law. All together, then, we have impacted 5 million people and their employment status.
Let me give you a minute to read this slide…… Would you agree with this statement? This fits with the talent shortage white paper Manpower has done showing that companies in all areas are increasing their searching efforts. We all hear about the competition for talent. Companies today are taking a strategic look at how they hire, when they bring in temporaries, why and when they pay fees for hiring. We can be part of that analysis . . . Next slide. . . . ..It’s an important part of what we do with and for our clients.
Review our Facts on this and next slide.
Quick Note: MSP = Managed Service Programs. It refers to Manpower owning and managing the entire temporary staffing spend for a client’s many locations. It often entails complex contract management combining not only our service to the client and its various locations but multiple other vendors’.
<<handout to go along with this>> This is a quick glimpse of our overarching products and service summary – Manpower, Manpower Professional and Manpower Business Solutions
<<remove if it doesn’t support your sales efforts>> Temporary staffing as the core of our business means we’re putting thousands of people into jobs each day at a variety of clients in a variety of industries. Recent stats put us at servicing at least 95% of the Fortune 500 to give you an idea of how far-reaching our experience across many industries and service sectors. The slide shows you the most common job titles we place across the U.S.
Engineering and IT account for 60% of our total sales revenue. Here is a “sampling” of the skill sets we place. The pie chart highlights our vertical breakdown…it summarizes our market focus and penetration.
Manpower snaps into a client’s hiring plan in a number of different ways – generally we are in place to address one or more of the following: scarcity, quality, speed or consistency. HR might need a supplement or the company might have nationwide hiring needs needing a company to snap-in here and there across the country. This quote comes from a small fabricating company in the midwest <<<find the letter if you want it in the Letter Library testimonial letter area – Laciny Bros >>> and cites how the two final candidates we presented were both so appreciated that the client created an additional job so they could hire both.
The next 2 slides address our tools – the tools we use within the business to quickly evaluate people for their fit to a job is especially critical. Our goal is to identify talented people who can fill a job opening for our client. To do that, we rely on a bank of state-of-the-art tools: Web prescreening is something we might use if we anticipate a large influx of candidates. It helps quickly find people who possess the core job requirements through a prescreening questionnaire. Those who meet the requirements quickly come to the top of the list. Those who don’t – whether it’s education, experience, certain credentials – will fall away. <<there are more slides on NetSelect if needed>> Behavioral interviewing too is a proprietary tool to Manpower built by our own organizational psychologists at our corporate headquarters. It’s truly about understanding the softer skills needed to perform in the job. That means – to the best of our ability – having quality time with the hiring manager or a person who knows the demands of the job best. We have over 80 different competencies to choose (I.e. leadership, business acumen, communication skills, teamwork, commitment etc) from with hundreds of different behavioral interview questions to select from. Assessment tools – over 400 different assessments are available to Manpower to help us confirm the skill sets of the candidates we represent. <<feel free to visit manpowerassessments.com to showcase our selection>> Many of our tests are delivered online. Some in our own offices. We have testing tools from light industrial to skilled trades to call center to IT. A wide range of testing tools including personality assessments for manager level, admin skill sets, and industrial. All the testing tools we build or pull into our arsenal are validated according to the guidelines developed by the EEOC and the American Psychology Association. <<there are more slides on all these assessments if needed>>
We have to be able to attract people to work with us, the best talent available, through our connections to local companies, how we professionally treat people and help them in their job search. One of the ways to we do that is through the TDC – our Training and Development Center. As a Fortune 130 company we have invested in a world class learning management system (LMS). We fill that system with content from SkillSoft - a leading provider of comprehensive e-learning content and technology products for business and IT professionals. We have over 2,500 online courses available from general business skills courses on communication, management, HR, to basic desktop courses such as the Microsoft Office products, and a wide range of IT courses. <<be prepared to log into the TDC to show ‘n tell what’s there!!>> Our associates have access for free for the life of their employment with us as do our own corporate and field employees throughout the world. There are over 250,000 students registered on the TDC worldwide. It’s been a resource within Manpower since the mid 80’s – even before the Intranet when all our training was delivered the old fashioned way with standalone computers and training programs loaded on with disks. We always have and continue to sell this training to our clients too for any population within your company that could benefit from online training of this type.
