Key Stage 3 History Homework
Term 3- Britain before 1066- The Vikings
Your task: If you say the date 1066 most people will be able to tell
you that this was the last time anybody successfully invaded Britain.
It was when the Normans invaded England and William the
Conqueror won at the Battle of Hastings. However, Britain had
been invaded before that by the Stone Age Settlers, Celts, Romans,
Anglos-Saxons, and the Vikings. Your task is to research about Viking
Britain and create a comic strip that would be suitable for a history
magazine for pupils your age (like Horrible Histories). You need to
explain what life was like in Viking Britain. To do this
you must cover the following in your booklet using both pictures
and writing:
• Where the Vikings came from
• How the Vikings came to England
• Why the Vikings came to England
• How the Vikings lived: food, clothes, lifestyle
