2. • Shutter speed is the amount of time that the camera’s shutter is open when
taking photographs. Shutter speed is measured in seconds, or mostly
fractions of seconds.
• The faster the shutter speed the clearer the image of a moving action
would be, where as with a slower shutter speed there could be more blur
as the action is happening.
• Shutter speed also depends how much light will be involved in the image,
the more or the brighter the light, the faster the shutter speed has to be.
The less light, the slower the shutter speed
1st Image-
Shutter Speed: 1 Sec
F-Stop: f/5.3
No Flash
2nd Image-
Shutter Speed: 1/25 Sec.
F-Stop: f/5.6
No Flash
4. • ISO is all about the
sensitivity of the image
sensor, the lower the
number the lower the
sensitivity will be to light
and will finer the grain.
Therefore, the larger or
higher the ISO number
is the brighter the image
will look and more
grainier the image will
be
ISO- 200
ISO- 400
ISO- 1600
ISO- 3200
6. • Depth of field is all about the F-stop. The smaller the f-
stop setting the more blurred the background of the image
will be, this is what depth of field is. The larger or higher
the f-stop the less blurred the background will then be.
2nd Image-
Shutter Speed: 1/800 Sec
F-Stop: f/10
No Flash
1st Image-
Shutter Speed: 1/800 Sec
F-Stop: f/6.3
No Flash
8. • Manual exposure is
when your camera is
set full manual and
you have complete
control over the
settings. These
settings are ISO,
Shutter Speed and
Aperture.
1st Image:
F-stop: f/10
Shutter Speed: 1/500 sec
ISO: 400
2nd Image:
F-stop: f/7.1
Shutter Speed: 1/80 sec
ISO: 400
9. • Rule of thirds is a grid
that helps align
objects within the
image. There is
evidence to believe
that when people view
images their eyes
automatically look to
one of the intersection
points of the grid
rather than the centre
of the image.
10. In these images the focuses of the image are along a whole line
and just off centre, this automatically creates a point of interest.
