The document discusses several proud moments in the author's life:
1) Graduating from college after taking a four year break, proving critics wrong who said she wouldn't be able to manage college.
2) Her nephew, who brings her happiness and reminds her of her mother, being her pride and joy.
3) Quickly advancing in her career as a cashier, being promoted several times and training new employees.
2. Centennial Collage
I graduate from high school in 2007 and
decided to take a semester off but then
for some personal reasons I ended up
taking four years off. I remember
everyone used to tell me how after a
big gap I won’t be able to manage
collage and if I do go to collage then I
will dropout within the first semester.
Today I am so proud of myself and I
proved many people wrong that if you
have the passion to be successful, you
can achieve any goal at any time and at
any age.
3. My nephew
From the time that he was
born, Balkaran Singh , my nephew
has always been someone that I
have always been proud of. This is
for many reasons such as he brings
happiness in to my life, I am a proud
aunt and also how his appearance
always reminds me of my mother.
Today I am a proud aunt of the best
nephew in the world who is my pride
and joy. Without him I would be lost
in this world. He means the world to
me.
4. My Work Experience
I am currently working at No frills as a
cashier. My career started off as a Cashier
and I was able to quickly work my way up to
become a Customer Service Representative.
From there within few months I was
promoted to a Cash Office Personnel and a
Trainee where I train newly hired employees
for the cash department. My responsibilities
are to help them learn the codes, develop
their innovative skills, explain key roles and
day-to-day responsibilities that each one of
them would have to follow. Also some of
the other areas that their training includes
teach them how to use the cash
register, how to check currency, how to
deal with a con artist etc. and at the end
basically prepare them to become a good
cashier. I am very proud of myself that I
was able to gain much experience in a very
short period of time.
5. Presentation
My partner and I prepared a
presentation in GNED500 how to
prevent the gun violence in high
school . We came up with a “Youth
Violence Prevention Program” where
we will create workshops for teens
who went down the wrong path and
was involved in violence . We believe
that” when youth speak, other youth
listen.”
6. Interview Assignment
This picture was taken when I went to
meet Ms. Sandhu for my interview
assignment for Carrier Exploration. She
works at Service Canada- Temporary
Foreign Worker Program as a Programs
Officer. I went to meet her at her
office. I was so glad to met Ms. Sandhu
because I learned a lot from her. After
a nice conversation with her, I found
out how it was her dream to become a
Programs Officer and gave me the
courage to follow my dream to become
a HR Officer.
