2. Welcome to the first SVA Meeting
Host: Harry Keller
Senator
3. SVA is a 501(c)(3) coalition of student veterans groups on
college campuses across the globe. These member chapters
are the "boots on the ground” that help veterans reintegrate
into campus life and succeed academically. Each chapter
must be an officially recognized student group by their
university or college and provide a peer-to-peer network for
veterans who are attending the school. Additionally,
chapters often coordinate campus activities, provide pre-
professional networking, and generally provide a touchstone
for student veterans in higher education.
Student Veterans of America is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-
exempt organization.
4. The usage of the logo must not be in affiliation with any non-permitted purposes, which
include political campaigns and events supporting specific candidates. However, use of the
SVA
logo for lobbying activities or legislative agendas that are meant to influence legislation
through
any means will require the explicit written approval of the Executive Director to ensure SVA
remains compliant with applicable IRC 501(c)(3) regulations.
Additionally, Student Veterans of America is a registered trademark with the United States
Patent
and Trademark Office. The logo cannot be modified for an individual chapter or school.
Proper
use is to create a unique chapter logo and then state: “An Approved Chapter of Student
Veterans
of America.” The logo should then be placed near that language.
As Chapter Officers, you are responsible to ensure that events where the logo is used
represent the
mission of SVA and are in compliance with the applicable IRC 501(c)(3) regulations. All
usage of
the logo must be in accordance with SVA stated policy and the federal law.
