if he/she focuses on 1 main skill for a particular lesson, not by omitting the other skills in the writing of a lesson plan.

  • 1. Subject : English Date / Day : 3rd January 2013 (Thursday) Class : Year 6 Time : 08:00 – 09:00 a.m. (60 Minutes) Theme : World of self, friends & family. Topic : Wonderfully Made Skills : 1.1.2 Listen to and group words according to the same middle sounds. 2.7.3 Talk about the events of the story. 3.2.2 Read and learn the meaning of key words for each topic taught. 4.3.2 Construct simple sentences and compound sentences based on words and phrases given and on a picture stimulus. Objective (s) : Pupils should be able to: 1. acquire a wide range of vocabulary but stating aloud the words they learn. 2. read the sentences aloud with correct intonation and stress. 3. construct at least 3 simple sentences of their own ideas correctly with less grammar mistakes. Activities : 1. Shared reading and content discussion. 2. Focus words – Building up vocabulary. 3. Sentence construction using one’s ideas based on lesson content. Moral Value (s) : Respectful, Thankful Educational Emphasis : Intensive reading, Generating Ideas. Teaching Aids : Year 6 Textbook, Worksheets. Topic : Wonderfully Made Skills : 1.1.1 (iii) Listen to and repeat words that contain the diphthong sounds. 2.10.1 Repeat words that obtain the diphthong sounds. 3.2.2 Read and learn the meaning of key words for each topic taught. 4.3.2 Construct simple sentences and compound sentences based on words and phrases given and on a picture stimulus. Educational Emphasis : Generating Ideas, Comparing. Teaching Aids : Year 6 Textbook, Worksheets. Reflection Preparation of a lesson should cover all the four main skills namely Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing. Teacher needs to highlight in the reflection if he/she focuses on 1 main skill for a particular lesson, not by omitting the other skills in the writing of a lesson plan.
