University. Awarded first prize for getting highest marks in “
Advance steel structures” in B E
M.Tech.(Structure) from most premium institute of India ,
IIT Bombay in 1980
Experience : (1) As a Deputy Executive Engineer I have Designed and
Constructed cast in situ and pre castsegmental posttensioned
Prestressed and RCC Bridges and Aqueducts ,Canal Structures.
,Canal and canal lining during1980 to1998.Construction of
PrestressedBridge acrossriver Damanganga involved 10
no of 32 m long box type. Superstructure with 22m high piers
Segmentalprestressedbridge across Kolak river involved six
no of 25 m long span. Posttensioning using Freyssinate
system was adopted .
(2) As a Executive Engineer I have worked for Major River
Projects like Panam, Ukai and Kakrapar reservoir Projects. from
1998 to 2006 where rehabilitation works of structures
like bridges, syphones,CD worksetc. and Pavercanal lining
costing 110 crores and Panam Dam, D/S Bucket, Gates and
its hoisting , Gantry ,Stop log ,Drainage Galleryand Tail
Channel works were carriedout.
(3) As a Senior Executive Engineer during 2006 to 2011 I
2. have executed Panam High Level Canal Project Costing
Rs.145 crores involving construction of bridges, and CD works..
As a part of ProjectI have Constructed Tunnel (First and
longestTunnel) passing through most difficult terrain having
lakes, road, buildings etc on its alignment. Tunnel is having
6.6 m x 6.6 m D shape sectionand 3650 m length and is
having 365mlong adit tunnel. Tunnel work was
investigatedby Geophysicaland, Geotechnicalinvestigation,
Basedon geologicalinvestigationfeasibility report and DPR
was prepared. Tunnel was designed in house. Preparationof
estimate, BOQ, and costestimate was carried out
departmentally. Alignment was controlled by total station
and GPS. Tunnel was constructedby drilling and control
blasting using designedDrilling pattern, Tunnel was
supported by steelrib supports, rock bolting and shotcreting
. Rock bolts were tested by pull out and torque testing,
Tunnel lining using movable collapsible shuttering, surface
vibrators and pumped concrete Tunnel passedthrough most
difficult geologicalcondition of rock having alternate bands
of quartzite and quartzitic mica schist. Provision of
necessary lighting, dewatering and ventilation as per
standard codalrequirement was observed.Tunnel was
executedobserving all safetystandards. Tunnel costed Rs.65
Crores.
I also participated in training for tunneling using TBM for Delhi
Metro and learned technique of NATM method o tunneling cut
and cover method and metro stations construction including
erection of precast segmental posttensioned Girder bridges and
Viaducts.Fully conversant to safety requirements of tunneling
and other project related aspects of preparation of estimate, rate
analysis, specifications, preparation of tender papers,
Prequalification criteria, Tender evaluation, negotiations and
award of contract, bill Preparation, and bill checking, PMC,
contract management, arbitration etc. I have participated in many
national and international seminars and workshops on
tunneling. During this period I also constructed Sant Road
Weir across Panam River costing Rs.10crores.
I was lastly working before retirement in Feb. 2014 for the
preparation of Detailed Project Report for Government of
Gujarat’s most ambitious Gulf of Khambhat Development
3. Project involving construction of Dam across Gulf which
envisages to create 2000 sq. km of fresh water Reservoir by
construction of 32 km long dam in the Gulf of Khambhat and
collecting water from major rivers like Narmada ,Sabarmati,
Mahi , Dhadhar, and rivers of Saurastra Costing Rs. 55000
crores.
