qdeveloping,teaching,orpresentingCPEactivities,nottoexceed10%oftherequiredclockhours;and

CONTINUINGPROFESSIONALEDUCATIONPROVIDERS:AllpersonsororganizationsprovidingCPEactivitiestoeducatorsforStandardCertificaterenewalmustberegisteredwithTEA.Providers
mustfurnisheacheducatorwithwrittendocumentationtoinclude:
qprovider'snameandIDnumber;
qeducator'sname;
qdateandcontentoftheactivitycompleted;and
qnumberofclockhoursawarded
OnlythoseCPEactivitiesfromTEAregisteredproviderswillberecognizedforStandardCertificaterenewalpurposes.AllCPEprovidersapprovedbyTEAarelistedunderthe“TexasEducators”,
then“CertificationRenewals”linkontheTEAwebsite.
Aneducatormustcompleteatotalof150or200clockhoursofcontinuingprofessionaleducationeveryfiveyears.Aclassroomteacherwhoalsoholdsaprincipalcertificatewouldneedatotalof
200clockhourstorenewboththeteacherandprincipalcertificates.
PleasenotethateducationalaidesarenotrequiredatthistimetocompleteanyCPEhoursforcertificaterenewal.
