I have knownHowardDrake forthe last18 yearsand inthose yearsI have found himto be one of the
mostconsiderate,friendlyandpassionate personwhenitcomestohisfamilyfriendsandcareerthatI
have known.
I firstmetHoward whenhe wasworkingforthe Walt DisneyCompanyatthe Disneyland Resort. He was
workinginthe Worldof DisneyStore whichisthe largeststore Disneyoperates westof the Mississippi
and the secondlargeststore inthe Company. He wasworkingas a Host inan area knownas collectibles.
Howard wasconsistentinhisabilityto deliverthe worldclasscustomerservice thatDisneyisknownfor,
while atthe same time beingable tofocuson the day to dayand hourlyoperationof the location. He
was able towelcome the guestintohis location;answeringanyquestionstheymayhave hadall while
suggestingtangiblegiftsanditemsforthemto purchase toremindthemof theirtripto the Disneyland
Resort. Afterseeinghis consistentperformance atthe Worldof DisneyI approached himand askedhim
if he wouldbe interestedinworkinginouremployeestore calledCompany DIt wasthere that he
demonstratedhisabilitytobe consistentinhiscourtesytowardshis customers aswell ashis
salesmanship. Howardwasverydependable whenitcame tohis workschedule andthe everchanging
accountabilitiesinworkinginanemployee discountlocation.AtCompanyDwe oftenhadto perform
otherjobrelateddutiesthatwere notnormallydone bythe average CastMember(employee) but
Howard wasthe firstto jumpin anddo whateverittookto getthe jobdone. We continuedour
friendshipafterhe leftthe DisneylandResort
On occasionI had the opportunitytosee Howardworkinhisother jobssince leavingDisneyandIcan
say he was demonstratingthe same strong consistentworkethicsthathe hadwhenI firstmet him
Whetheritismakinghiscustomersfeel welcome, answeringanyquestionstheymayhave, upselling
whereverhe canand buildingstrongrelationshipswithregularcustomerswhowouldcome back
because of hisexcellentservice.
Outside of workHowardis a committedhusbandandfatherof twogirls He spendsa good majority of
hisfree time withhisfamilyorby volunteeringathischurchor volunteeringathisdaughter’sschool
functions.
